Skinny Trinny: How there's even less of TV fashion guru Woodall

Health fears: Trinny Woodall looked gaunt yesterday

She says, in the way that only naturally skinny women can, that diets are 'rubbish'.
But it seems that Trinny Woodall has been following one nevertheless.
As she dropped her daughter off at school yesterday in London, the 45-year-old appeared to have lost pounds off her already slender frame, with her heavy grey Burberry coat only serving to accentuate the gauntness of her legs.
Her arms are similarly skinny, too, as she revealed at an animal charity event earlier in the week when she posed with Susannah Constantine, her co-host on the BBC makeover show What Not To Wear.
Fears for her health were first raised in October last year - the month she split from her millionaire husband Johnny Elichaoff - after she collapsed on a transatlantic flight from New York.
Miss Woodall, who is currently single, had to be taken off the plane in a wheelchair.

She later blamed a bad reaction to a sleeping pill.
She has admitted following a gruelling exercise regime which she says was taught to her by a Russian 'detox doctor' in Switzerland.
But she has always denied having a problem with her weight, saying: 'I've been the same size for 20 years and am known for my greed! Diets are rubbish.
'I often have a day when I stuff myself.'
However, she has made no secret of using Botox to maintain her looks.

'I'm not ashamed of it,' she once said.

'It's important to look good when you're in our position. You've got to practise what you preach.'

Tranny has admitted to being an alcoholic in her youth, not sure about drugs though.

    What's eating Skinny Trinny?

source: What's eating Skinny Trinny? TV star becomes worryingly thin in her desperate bid to crack America | Mail Online

Trinny Woodall has been watching what she eats in preparation for her upcoming assault on Hollywood. Or perhaps counting might be a more accurate description.

Little, bar a meagre daily allowance of raw carrot batons, a small handful of organic rice cakes and a carefully controlled portion of roasted pumpkin seeds, has been allowed to pass her improbably plump lips just lately.
Even her last illicit pleasure - the single dark chocolate Lindor truffle to which she used to treat herself each evening - has been ruthlessly dispensed with.
Nothing, the already super-slim style queen has decreed, must come between her and the size zero figure she insists she will need if she is to crack the all-important American market.
'Trinny's absolutely thrilled with the way she looks at the moment,' a close friend told me last week. 'She's just really annoyed that people keep saying she's had her lips done. She is adamant they are the same size they have always been.'
Perhaps we should give Trinny, who freely admits to being a devotee of Botox, the benefit of the doubt. It could, after all, just be some kind of physiological anomaly that makes it appear as if, while the rest of her disappears before our very eyes, her distinctly fleshy pout seems only to get bigger.
Either way, the results of her weight-loss regime are remarkable and, it has to be said, unsettling.
Witness Trinny's appearance last week at a charity function in London in aid of the pet charity Dogs Trust at the exclusive Hurlingham Club.
Even the high-necked brown and blue floor-length gown she wore to the event could not disguise her worryingly lean figure, or her sinewy arms and shoulders.

Meanwhile, the artfully created chignon her hair stylist had so carefully created for the occasion served only to draw the eye to the fact that her head appeared all too big for her fragile body.

Certainly, Trinny was virtually the only topic of conversation when it came to the whispered gossiping of her fellow female guests, who included her co-host Susannah Constantine, actress Claire Sweeney and presenter Linda Barker.

The presenter's sinewy appearance shocked other guests at a charity event for the Dog's Trust which she attended with co-presenter Susannah Constantine

One woman who attended the dinner told me it would have been rather a dull do if it hadn't been for Trinny's shocking appearance.
'As it was, everybody spent the whole evening talking about how skinny she looked. Up close, her back seemed hunched and she looked quite ill. I felt worried for her,' she said.
It was a similar story the following day: this time it was her knees and calves that came under the spotlight when she appeared in a thigh-length grey Burberry coat as she dropped her daughter off at school near her ?2million West London home.
But the reactions of ordinary people to her new frame are unlikely to deter Trinny. She is determined there should be no spare ounces on her when she and Susannah fly to America at the start of next month for what, it seems, is their one shot at exporting their rather sadistic brand of makeover show to Hollywood.
I have learned that the two women have been signed up by the TLC cable network to appear in their own series called Making Over America With Trinny And Susannah.

In their heyday: Trinny and Susannah pulled in millions of viewers with their BBC show What Not to Wear in 2003

Insiders at the station, which is part of the huge Discovery Channel group, say the show's two stars will be followed by cameras for the next two months as they travel around Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia and Florida, offering their own brand of no-nonsense fashion advice to American women.
The series of half-a-dozen one-hour shows, for which they have signed a six-figure deal, will air in the late summer and early autumn.
No wonder Trinny is so excited and, it seems, so keen that her figure should conform to Hollywood's rather skewed taste for skinny women. Not least because after a stinker of a year, which has seen her marriage fold and her career in Britain hit the skids, she could certainly do with some good fortune just now.
A source close to 45-year-old Trinny told me: 'She's had a rotten time of it recently, so naturally she's pinning her hopes on this chance in America. This time last year, she set her heart on cracking the States and now she feels it's within her grasp. She is not going to let this chance slip away.'
The announcement of the American series, which was commissioned after they appeared in a successful pilot in January, could not be more welcome. It comes as the caustic double act was quietly dropped by ITV after a series of dismal ratings dogged various shows for the network.
When their last series for ITV1, called Trinny And Susannah Meet Their Match, was broadcast earlier this year it was nothing less than a disaster. By the end of its run, viewing figures had slumped to just 1.8million.

The nation embraced the pair's no-nonsense approach to style advice

The station, which had signed the pair to a ?1.2 million 'golden handcuffs' deal in 2006 after poaching them from the BBC, had desperately tried to breathe new life into their now rather laboured makeover format, by allowing female members of the public to turn the tables on the domineering presenters and dress them for the cameras.
But the series failed to claw back the viewers, who were deserting in their droves. Last year their primetime ITV show, Trinny And Susannah Undress The Nation, was dropped after recording fewer than three million viewers.
It was quite a comedown from the days when their original BBC series, What Not To Wear, pulled in seven million viewers, who became hooked on the often cruel put-downs from the two self-styled fashion gurus as they transformed the wardrobes and looks of their hapless victims.
With financially strapped ITV looking to cut costs, the new deal the two women had been hoping for has not materialised, even though sources close to them admit they had been prepared to accept substantially less money than they had previously been paid by the station.
But in the absence of a contract, Trinny and Susannah were reduced, rather embarrassingly, last month to touring Australia with what was billed by its organisers - somewhat extravagantly - as the 'stage version' of their show.

Glowing: Trinny was curvier and a picture of health back in 2003 when she and Susannah attended the British Television Awards

In reality, the tour consisted of little more than the pair travelling around a series of suburban shopping centres in the likes of Parramatta, New South Wales, where, minus the cameras, they dished out fashion advice to passing female shoppers.
No wonder, given just how far their stars have fallen, that London-born Trinny is telling friends she would happily up sticks and move to Los Angeles full-time if their new venture is a hit.
The only cloud on the horizon is that her sidekick, Miss Constantine, is said to be far less gung-ho about a relocation than her more fiercely ambitious co-presenter.
Friends say Susannah has made it clear to Trinny that she has no intention of uprooting her three children, along with her Danish businessman husband Sten Bertelsen, from their home in West Sussex to the other side of the world.
That will not, however, hold back the thrusting Trinny who has set her agents the task, I am told, of finding her more work in America - with or without 46-year-old Susannah.
Unsurprisingly, though, given her ever more slender appearance, there are those within her circle who fear that Trinny - who has a five-year-old daughter, Lyla, from her marriage to financial adviser Johnny Elichaoff - might be putting too much pressure on herself.

In happier times: Trinny with ex-husband Johnny Elichahaoff

Certainly, she cut a rather brittle and agitated figure at that charity event when she and Miss Constantine were kept waiting by a BBC television crew, there to film the proceedings.
A furious Trinny is said to have mouthed obscenities into Susannah's ear before flouncing off in a huff.
But with a messy personal life to add to her recent career woes, few could blame her if she's been feeling the strain. Her nine-year marriage to former rock drummer Elichaoff, 50, came to an end last summer following months of speculation that their relationship was in trouble.
At the time, it was claimed they had fallen out over her obsession with her career, but close friends say it was, in fact, the couple's markedly differing approaches to their one-time addictions that finally drove them apart.
Boarding school-educated Trinny, who battled alcoholism in her 20s, and remains staunchly committed to sobriety nearly 20 years on, is said by friends to have given up on her husband's continuing struggle to shake his own addiction to prescription painkillers.

He became addicted to them after having more than 20 operations on his leg following a motorcycle accident.

Since the end of her marriage, Trinny has reportedly chased Keanu Reeves

Sources say Trinny, who still attends weekly AA meetings, decided she could no longer nurse her husband through his on-going battle to stay clean as well as dealing with her own issues as a recovering alcoholic.
They say the beginning of the end came as long as two years before their eventual split, when he checked into a California clinic in a bid to deal with his addiction once and for all.

At the same time, a clearly frail Trinny collapsed in the first-class aisle of a BA flight from New York to London and had to be taken off at Heathrow in a wheelchair. She later blamed the incident on an allergic-reaction to a sleeping tablet.

Friends say that after months of attempting to win back his beautiful wife, Elichaoff, who once travelled the world in supporting acts for the likes of U2 and Siouxsie Sioux, has finally conceded that the marriage is over for good.
One friend, who met him at a recent party, told me: 'Johnny seemed very down about Trinny. He was really pining for her. He admitted that his addiction, which he's been battling for years, just became too much for her in the end and drove her away. He said she'd tried for years to help him and put up with his mood swings.

Spice up your life: The presenter has also been linked to Geri Halliwell's ex, Hollywood screenwriter Sacha Gervasi

'I got the impression he may have been back into rehab, but he admitted that it's too late for them now and she'd never take him back.'
Another friend said: 'It's all a bit sad. Johnny's been trying to get over the break-up by going out partying with girls half his age.
'I saw him recently and was pretty shocked. He had lost weight and was walking with two sticks.'
Mutual friends say Trinny has recently been dating a younger man, but she has been keen to keep his identity a secret for fear of upsetting her already troubled ex-husband even further.
In October, she went on a series of evenings out with Hollywood heartthrob Keanu Reeves during a holiday in Los Angeles. She was photographed on the back of his motorbike and they later dined together at The Ivy in London.
But those close to her say her hopes that something might come of the friendship with The Matrix star floundered after he stopped taking her calls.
More recently, she has been linked to the British-born Hollywood screenwriter Sacha Gervasi - the father of Geri Halliwell's daughter, Bluebell. Trinny was also seen partying last month with Arsenal football stars at London's trendy Movida nightclub.
Her friend told me: 'Trinny's convinced she can become a huge star in the States, but she says she has got to look just right if she's going to be taken seriously in Hollywood. I have told her she needs to put on weight, but she is always saying she eats too much. It's crazy.'
Now, those who know Trinny best are hoping her Hollywood dream does not come to fruition at the expense of her hard-won health.

    Susannah is much hotter.

Are they going to try and launch their silly "style" show thingy in America? That's not going to work.

I've always liked their version of 'what not to wear' way better than the us version
