I've never understood the huge fan base that GnR had/has... But Axl's wankiness and ego is far beyond any other rockstar or band.

Most people I know find their success and 'legacy' bizarre considering they have released fuck all albums, compared to their peers.

This is just another example of Axl's passive-aggressive narcissism and a way to draw attention to himself.

Have the Foo Fighters been inducted? If not, replace GnR with them. They're seriously badass and Dave Grohl is the 'thinking woman's rock idol'

The Foo Fighters haven't been around long enough yet. Performers become eligible 25 years after their first recording was released, so they won't be eligible as a band until 2020. (Pat Smear could be inducted now, for his work with the Germs, but somehow, I don't see that happening.) Nirvana won't even be eligible until 2013 or 2014, depending on what they consider their first release. (Nirvana is almost certainly a shoo-in for being inducted the first year they're nominated. Can't wait to see the inevitable drama coming from Courtney Love when that happens. )

This is all about Axl's feud with Slash.

Slash: 'Axl Rose Hates My Guts' | Music News | Rolling Stone

When Guns N' Roses get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14th, nobody knows exactly what else will happen including Slash. "This is a subject I'm dead sick of talking about," the guitarist says. "Everyone has been asking me what's going to happen, and they know as much as I do. I feel you're totally obligated to be present and I would love to fucking play, but it's just something that's not gonna happen for whatever reason."
Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler are all committed to going to the Cleveland ceremony, but it's unclear whether guitarist Izzy Stradlin or Axl Rose will be present. One sticking point for Axl may be the presence of Slash, whom he called a "cancer" in 2009.
"He hates my guts," says Slash. "It's over a lot of different stuff; I don't even know. There's just no communication between us. I talk to Duff and Steven, but when it comes to old Guns N' Roses, there really isn't anybody that makes decisions."
BLABBERMOUTH.NET - AXL ROSE On Possibility Of GUNS N' ROSES 'Reunion' Tour: 'Not In This Lifetime' (Video)

TMZ.com has posted video footage of GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose leaving the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, California last night (Friday, April 6) with 25-year-old singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey.

When asked by the cameraman if there is any chance of GUNS N' ROSES doing a reunion tour with the "full lineup," Axl replied, "Not in this lifetime."

Rose, drummer Steven Adler, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and guitarist Izzy Stradlin will all be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next weekend in Cleveland, along with later GUNS N' ROSES members, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and drummer Matt Sorum.

As previously reported, GREEN DAY has been confirmed to induct GUNS N' ROSES into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, according to RollingStone.com. Their participation this year ends the speculation about who was going to induct GUNS, but questions still remain about which members of the band will show up for the April 14 ceremony in Cleveland. Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed will all be there, but it was reported this week that Izzy Stradlin won't attend and Axl Rose's participation is still unclear.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Slash said last week that GUNS N' ROSES will not perform at the event, and Stradlin's absence would seem to confirm that whether Rose shows up or not.

Slash told RollingStone.com earlier this week that Rose "hates my guts." The two have not performed together since 1993. Rose currently tours with a completely different version of GUNS N' ROSES featuring no original members but him.

What a dumb fuck. Does he not grasp how fucking epic a reunion would be? Even if just for one goddamn song at the RRHOF induction, he should give us that, lol. If he still had it he would prance his uppity ass on that stage, let us all have it and then go back to his own shit. Selfish asshole, he knows he's lost his touch and Slash will make him look like a talentless prick.

He's such a douche. This is how I imagine the meetings he refers to in his public letter, where he met with the RRHF organisers:

"I am not getting on stage with those guys. If you want to induct Guns n' Roses, you have to induct the CURRENT LINE UP. My band! ONLY MY BAND!"
"Uh.... no. We want to induct the line up that most people think of when they hear the name Guns n' Roses. That means you have to stand on stage with Slash. Just suck it up. It'll be 15 minutes and then you can go back to not speaking to him again."
"NO! NONONONONONONONONO!!! I don't wanna! I WANNA MY BAND TO BE INDUCTED NOT THAT OLD BAND! DO NOT WANT TO SHARE WITH SLASH!!!"

    Or something like that.

    Fucking wanker.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards haven't exchanged words in decades. That doesn't stop them from tourig together. Axl is so childish. Again, soooo glad I didn't get than G 'n' R tattoo in my teens...

Axl does this part pretty much on his own.

this is it to the eleventy. Someone said earlier Axl wants to be inducted as a single artist and sorry but the only one I see that happening for is Slash. I loved me some Axl but we all know Slash made that fucking band

Never cared for Axl but I always just loved Slash. I have a thing for rock guitarists, even married one. Slash is still putting out really good music while Axl ... not so much. Have you even tried to listen to his recent stuff? Not even worth the bandwidth to download a Bittorrent.

I really hope that whatever members of GNR show up at induction are able to put together a performance.

    Team Slash!

Interesting inductees. Donovan, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys. Ione Skye was fathered by one, in a long term relationship with one and married one She's gonna be a busy girl that night.

I think they should all give him what he wants. Mention all other members, don't show his photo, and nobody mention his name - pretend he never existed. If he bitches about it they can all just say they were respecting his wishes.
