What acting roles has Rumer actually been in? Or do you need to have acted to be named 2008 Miss Golden Globe?

All I can think of is that she's just the daughter of a famous couple.

Actually, I think the only requirement is to be the daughter of a celeb.

It prepares them for a life filled with riding their parents' coattails.

Miss and Mr Golden Globes are indeed the children of celebrities, generally those who are trying to make it in the business themselves. Needless to say, most of them don't make it, because nepotism can GIVE you the roles, but it suuuuuuure isn't going to send people to the box office.

And Rumer Willis just doesn't seem the type to win my heart...

I think Dakota Johnson (Don and Melanie's daughter) did it last year.

Last year or year before last Jack's kid with Rebecca Broussard, Lorraine, did it.

But, but, I thought Rumor was already fabulously famous all on her own? Why in the world would she need to do this?

oh, sorry, LOL. The Miss (or MR!) Golden Globes is the person who stands on stage and hands out the actual trophy and then guides the person offstage. They don't speak during the ceremony but they have a little one minute blurb where they are introduced to the audience. They also get attention on the red carpet and have (the girls anyway) used it as an opportunity to have a red carpet gown AND a ceremony gown.

A full list of the past...err... recipients are on the HFPA's website:

Why in the world would they give Miss Golden Globe to her? Were there no other celebuspawn's available?? I guess this will be Bruce, Demi and Ashton's one chance to actually attend the Golden Globes.
