Default Simon Cowell gives £100K-a-year to dogs' home

    Rex Features

Simon Cowell has donated £100,000-a-year to a dogs' home in California, according to tabloid reports.
The X Factor judge gives the money in secret to a business owned by Exorcist actress Linda Blair, claims The Sun.
Blair's animal centre in Toulca Lake looks after "neglected and abandoned" pets.
"Simon is a huge dog lover but because he's always travelling he can't have one," said a source. "He thought it would be a great idea to help Linda out. He doesn't like to talk about it as he sees it as a private arrangement."
In 2007, Cowell revealed that he was planning to leave a substantial sum to dogs' homes in his will.

I'm not a huge fan of this guy, but this story has made me see him in a different light. This is a great gesture on his part and I would love to see other celebrities follow his lead.

^^ He's always been like that, in my opinion. He puts across this hard, cold 'I couldn't give a damn about the little people' persona but stories pop up all the time about how he treats everyone well and does a lot for charities.

he might sport one of the weirdest hair styles since Herman Munster but he does have a good heart.

I don't know much about this guy - I always see him painted as a jerk in the tabloids - but this is so cool. I also hope it's true.

I've always liked him. His bastard persona does it for me, which probably says plenty about me.

What a nice thing to do, and what a novel idea to keep it quiet, unlike some others who have to publicize every good deed.

I love Simon. He's the only reason I even bother with American Idol.
This just makes me like him even more.

Yeah, he has donated to other charities before. I don't mind how he comes across as an ass because he just tells it as it is. The fact that he donates to a lot of things makes him a better person, imo, than someone who comes across as nice but doesn't really help anyone or anything.
