    Default Sharon Tate [Actress]

i wanted to start a thread on Sharon because shes im a huge fan of hers, and in my opinion shes one of the most beautiful women who ever walked on this earth.
She was a sweet and gorgeous woman whose life was cut by Charles Mansons followers when she was only 26 and 8 and half month pregnant with her first child in Augoust 1969. She starred in in 7 films including The Valley of the Dolls and Dont make waves. She was married with film director Roman Polanski.
This is a tribute to her. Enjoy!

Yep, she was very pretty and I don't think she'd had anything done. Polanski, no matter what people may think of him, was a wreck when he found out she was murdered as he was abroad for work. Tate had sailed ahead of Polanski, whose work was delayed, to prepare for the birth, from the UK back to the US. Polanski totally collapsed when he was told about the killings and in such a severe state of shock that friends like Warren Beatty (yes, that's how I know ) had to keep vigil with him 24/7. Warren and another friend flew with the heavily sedated Polanski back to the US. It was a total massacre.

    GROSS-OUT ALERT!

    Do NOT read this part.

The Manson people apparently gave Sharon a C-section
in the course of the murder -- allegedly, her womb was
cut open and her baby was on the floor.

    GROSS PART OVER

They really had something special with Sharon -- I don't know
if she could put a convincing performance on film,
but they said that about Deneuve and she made some
great movies in spite of her detractors.

At the very least, she was a supermodel before the term
    was even dreamed of.

She was very beautiful in a way that all the PS "beauties" of today are not, but she wasn't much of an actress. As gorgeous and sweet as she was by all accounts, Polanski cheated on her. I think that's one of the reasons why her horrible death affected him so much -- talk about guilt!

    Can't judge that, because I wasn't there.

Nobody deserves to die like that - let alone an unborn child. I shudder to think what that poor women went through. Meanwhile Charles Manson is alive and well, albeit in prison. There's the law and there's justice....... I think Sharon Tate's murder probably damaged Polanski for life. He'd already survived WW2 and lost most of his family in the Holocaust anyway so losing his wife and child in this gruesome and senseless way would drive anyone over the edge. I know he got embroiled in all kinds of underage sex stuff and I don't condone it at all, but the man was dealing with a lot of demons so let's not be too judgmental. I don't think many of us could have walked in his shoes unscathed.

Yea A*O, Sharons death was devastating for Roman. He even says now days that that was , by far, the worst moment of his life, much worse than his childhood . And dont forget that he also lost three friends the same day, not only his wife and unborn kid. I think that he went trough the worst nightmare you can think of.
Sharon was the sweetest woman on earth, according to Roman and to some of her Hollywood friends. Friends like Paty Duke, Barbara Parkins or Peggy Lipton said that she never said a bad word about anybody and that she was always pleasing everybody around forgeting about herself.
You know , i like Roman , i love his films and i think hes an interesting guy, but yeah, he cheated on her. He was a womanizer and Sharon knew that til the first moment. According to Romans biography she told him: i dont wanna change you. i wont swallow you like some women do with their men. i just wanna be with you.
But Sharon was deeply hurt inside, but he loved him so deeply that family and friends say she would have never thought about divorce.
Roman liked to sleep around and all that stuff, but he only loved Sharon.
Here are some excerpts from his autobiography Roman by Polanski, if you are interested

"Sharon was more than just stunning to look at. She wasn't naive or stupid or a cliche starlet...What had impressed me most about her, quite apart from her exceptional beauty, was the sort of radiance that springs from a kind and gentle nature; she had obvious hang-ups yet seemed completely liberated. I'd never met anyone like her before...

"Our life together was a sheer delight. Sharon introduced me to the America she knew; not only junk food, drive-ins, and popcorn at the movies, but the California coast, Big Sur, and Topanga Canyon. Some friends of hers lived in Topanga, and we used to spend whole afternoons there. In their garden, which overlooked a cliff, they had a crude swing-a tire on the end of a long rope- and I shall never forget the thrill of
soaring higher and higher through the branches, over the cliff, glimpsing the extraordinary view, hearing the wind whistle around us."

"All our friends adored Sharon. It wasn't just her looks that captivated them, though her beauty was breathtaking and her miniskirts emphasized her marvelous legs. She was among the first to flaunt these symbols of the sexual freedom of the sixties. Miniskirts were erotic yet innocent, romantic and charming and somehow vulnerable, so different than the forbidding, aggressive look of the seventies. When Sharon appeared in one, the whole street would turn and stare: men with admiration; women with envy; elderly matrons with vitriolic disapproval; old gentleman with nostalgic appreciation.

There was far more to Sharon than a lovely face and a sexy figure. What enchanted me about her as much as anything was her immutable good nature, her high spirits, her love of people and animals-of life itself. Overdemonstrative, over-solicitous women had always made me uneasy, but Sharon struck the perfect balance between affection and concern. Though more a spectator than a participant in our gags and shenanigans, she had a great sense of humor. She was also a born housewife. Aside from cooking like a dream, she used to cut my hair-a skill acquired from Jay Sebring. She liked to pack my bag whenever I had to take a trip. She always knew exactly what to put in-so much so that I can never pack or unpack, even today, without thinking of her.

She once told me to define my ideal woman.
    "You're it," I told her.
    She laughed. "Come on!"
    "Seriously," I said.
"What would you like me to be that I'm not ?"
"Nothing," I said with complete sincerity. "I wouldn't want you different in any way."

    Very touching, dont you think?

Sexy Sharon pic taken by Roman Polanski while filming The Fearless Vampire Killers. She had a perfect body and perfect face without any surgery, IMHO.

More sexy Sharon...she was so natural and gorgeous...

I've read a lot about it because I also think she is a beautiful woman. Obviously I don't know her but I think her photos reflect an internal beauty as well as external. But anyway, your above comment isn't true. Like I said, I have read a lot about this and there is one really in depth website that has all the crime scene photos. It's pretty gruesome and almost sickening to look at but I did. But from the pictures you can tell that didn't happen. Still disgusting though.

My quote from ourmaninbusan got messed up above. Sorry.

True, it was a massacre, but her pregnant tummy was still intact.
