Unhappy Jesse James (Sandra Bullock's husband) fights for 50% custody of 3-year-old daughter

Rumor: Sandra Bullock and Jesse James fight for custody of Jesse's daughter, Sunny
    By Tara, CBB Contributor
Sandra Bullock and husband Jesse James are reportedly in the process of fighting for custody over Jesse's 3 year-old daughter, Sunny. Currently, Sunny's mother and Jesse's ex, porn star Janine Lindemulder has custody. Apparently, Sunny has shown up at Jesse and Sandra's house with suspicious marks and bruises. Jesse's remarks in court papers state,
Sunny had small scratches and what appeared to be broken blood vessels and a bruise on her left cheek and a few bruises around her left and right eye. When my wife gently asked her if it hurt she said: 'Yes, but the bleeding stopped.' She just said 'mommy's chair' when we asked how it happened. [Janine] was to pick her up on Saturday afternoon but when she arrived (an hour late), Sunny screamed and cried she didn't want to go.

My wife and I let Sunny stay with us in bed Saturday night. We didn't think she should be alone. During the night she was very restless and seemed to be angry and crying off and on, but clearly cried out: 'don't touch me' and 'don't do that.
    '
In addition, Jesse says he's willing to drop his court action against Janine if she gives him 50 percent custody of their daughter. However, Janine says Jesse has only been involved in Sunny's life since January - before that, she claims he had only seen her for 30 minutes on the day she was born. A friend of Janine's says,
Janine doesn't have any problems with Sandra, but she does think it was Sandra who convinced Jesse to take a more active role in his daughter's life. Janine is a loving, caring mother. She welcomes any sort of investigation into her household. She has nothing to hide. Just because she's a porn star people automatically assume she's not a good mother - and that's simply not true!
Jesse has two other children with his first wife Karla James, Jesse James, Jr., 7, and Chandler, 9. Sandra has spoken about being close to her step children and loving them like they were her own.

Maybe someone smart out there can explain (to me) why he's only going for 50% custody if he believes his daughter has been injured by her mom or in her mom's home...? Poor kid!

Oh.My.God. I hope there's a good explanation for the 50% custody. Surely they have more than enough money for a nanny to pick up the slack on their busy schedules seeing as how both of their careers are still quite active. This is very serious.

I read this quite awhile ago and wondered the same thing. Also if there is anything suspicious why isn't she removed from the house? Usually CPS will remove them if there is any hint of abuse.
If I can't be a good example, then let me be a horrible warning.

Exactly. I've read that Sandra is having trouble conceiving and has set her sights on this child. It may be untrue, but that has happened before in custody cases.

CPS is not always on top of situations. In a case in my area last year, there were numerous reports to Cps, but nothing was done. They actually called the mother and set up an appointment to come to her home. She had almost two weeks to get things in order to give the appearance of being a good mom. After the visit CPS found no cause to remove the baby. Less than one month later 911 was called and the baby was rushed to the hospital where i work. The mother had thrown the baby so hard onto her bed that the baby bounced up and into the wall. There was head trauma and a broken arm. The baby was Med-Flighted to a bigger hospital where he was kept for over a month. Now the mother is in jail, and the baby is going to be adopted by his foster family. This situation could have been avoided if CPS had just done their job. So don't always count on CpS.

Yes they can be very ineffectual. But in many, many instances people use CPS as a weapon. MY SIL is a social worker who used to work for CPS. Many of her cases stemmed form people going through divorces. It was such a stressful, hearthwrenching job that she quit after a year.

I would think in a high profile case such as this they would be very careful. Maybe there's nothing to find and Jesse just wants custody. Like I've said, the mother claims Sandra wants her daughter. I don't know.

Okay, so he says he'll drop the investigation if she agrees to 50% custody? Like she wouldn't continue to abuse the child 50% of the time? I'm sorry, but something's not adding up here. You would think if he truly thought his child was being abused, he saw those sorts of injuries on her and she was screaming out in the night, or otherwise acting as if she was being abused, he'd be doing everything in his power to get the child out of the mother's custody PERMANENTLY.

yeah, I agree. I actually think there's something to the story about wanting the child and doing what they can to get her. This kind of thing happens all the time. My ex tried to paint me as a druggie who wasn't interested in our children - how he ever thought that ploy would work in light of who and what I actually am is beyond me, but he tried it. He didn't get away with it.

It is possible that because they are well to do and famous they can pull off this kind of power play. I hope that if it isn't true about the alleged abuse, they won't get away with it. Sandra seems nice, but a lot of people do... and then you find out their true character when the chips are down. I'm not saying I believe she's doing this, just that it's a possibility. Desperation distorts the truth and makes people do crazy things.

If on the other hand it is true, I hope the little girl gets out of there quickly with supervised visitation in the future. The way this is playing out though, I smell a rat. 50%? No.

Yeah that definitely doesn't add up. Another reason people use CPS to get more custody is to reduce the amount of child support they have to pay. If Jesse has her 50% of the time, that would significatly lower his CS, if not eliminate it completely. But you wouldn't think money would be a motive here. If his ex was truly abusive, he would be going for full custody. I like Sandra but I've never liked him. He always seems pissed off. I think he's too trashy for Sandra as well.

Thanks for the clarification Mistify; I had a dim memory of something violent between these two but had assumed that it was the less-taboo male beating female, not the other way around.
