13/11/05 : ELTON'S SNAPS SNUBBED BY TATE

SIR ELTON JOHN's offer of his prized photographic collection to Britain's Tate Gallery has been dismissed by the art institution as "unsuitable".

The ROCKET MAN singer is reportedly "angry and puzzled" at the undignified snub, as he wished to leave the impressive set of images - which includes shots by celebrated photographer ANNIE LEIBOVITZ - to the gallery in his legacy.

An art dealer pal of the star says, "Elton wanted to leave his entire collection to the Tate in his will, but was told that it would not be suitable for the gallery."
