Perez Hilton outs Wentworth Miller!

I don't think the fact he doesn't want to come out means he's ashamed of being gay. I know a number of fledging actors who are gay, but because they want to get a big break they plan on keeping their sexuality to themselves until they have done enough work, then coming out won't really matter as much. (hopefully)

I can't name one 'out' gay A lister. The truth is given the still very 'old way' of the thinking in Hollywood, coming out actually hurts your career. I know people who work in Hollywood that say this time and time again. The fact is as unfortunate as it is a casting director is less likely to cast a gay actor in a straight leading man role. Simply because his ‘beliveableness’ in the role is always going to be questioned since he is gay in real life, not just by studio execs but by the public as well.

I am sure you however one sees many straight actors being cast in gay roles. This from my understanding actually helps an actor as it shows his 'versatility' and his willingness to take 'artistic risks'. I'm not saying I agree with this current situation, I'm just saying that from all reports this is the climate currently in Hollywood.

Coming out is never as straight forward as it is for some people. I think for those who are out its easy to loose sight of the issues associated with coming out, especially when you have not been faced with the situation in question. At any rate from what I’ve come to know about Wentworth through a few people that know him, it’s unlikely that he’s ashamed of being gay and probably keeping it to himself for the reasons I mentioned.

There was a story on 20/20 or Dateline a few weeks ago about this topic. They interviewed Chad Allen who discussed how he was doing very well in Hollywood with Dr. Quinn, etc. until it was revealed he was gay. He hasn't worked much since and is facing a lot of prejudice when it comes to getting a role, especially if it's a "straight" role. So I completely understand when an actor chooses to keep their private life private. From my perspective it doesn't matter if a hottie is gay or straight - they're whomever I want them to be in my fantasies

Well i couldnt care less about Wentworth Miller, but Perez is an arsehole. Actually on yahoo answers he was asking if the public have a right to know if a certain star is gay. Is it RIGHT for them to keep it a secret.

Yeah, how dare they keep a secret. I still don't see what their sexuality has to do with their job. And why it's our "right" to know every little thing about anyone we choose to focus on. The "right" that everyone has, celebrity or not, is the right to privacy and it's a shame that Perez chooses to overlook that when it involves anyone but himself.

Maybe he is bi with a preference for men, which is ok. I will still drool over him. I can get hot and bothered by a gay guy. Beauty is beauty.

Perez is just angry that none of these hot gays want his fat, ugly, platypus flipper feet hairy ass.

I will still bea fan of Went if he is gay or bi. No one chooses his or her sexuality and you can repress it forever if you want, but it will just cause you all types of pain.

Good outlook. I'm the same way. When I'm turned on I'm turned on by beauty---whether it's from a gay man or straight man. Anything that I see in my head is fantasy so why care?

I don't know these celebrities who I find beautiful so it's not like I have a realistic image of them anyway.

I've also heard that Went was bi, but I've heard more that he's gay. I think bi is always a possibility because honestly, how the hell do these people know? Unless they're best friends spilling dirt (which is pathetic) I don't see how these people know how this specific celebrity feels. It's their emotion; their sexuality. I'd hate to have someone think they know me well enough to tell others how I feel about something. That whole idea just creeps me out. In the real world, it doesn't matter what you hear or how good you are at speculating---it's not possible to speak truly for someone else, because you are not that person. I never get that about people.

Either way, I hope Went's not ashamed to be gay. It breaks my heart to hear things like this in the year 2007. The prejudice disgusts me.

I have only had the chance to nail one celebrity and I passed on it. I swore I would not pass if the opp arose, but I just respect myself too much.

That being said, when I see all that Grade a Beef on TV, wtf do I care who they are with? It is fantasy and I control every aspect of it. They are straight in my fantasies if they are guys and bi or lesbian if they are girls.

I doubt many of the gays in entertainment are ashamed to be gay. I think they are fearful their careers will be over. Hwo many have risen high enough to ensure their careers will be there the next day, if they come out? This is sad that people are forced to live lies.

This very prejudice has driven people insane. Petty differences can create insurmountable problems. Everyone be bi and call it a day.

First of all Perez should never have done this; as a gossip **ahem** 'journo' he knows full well that coming out can seriously hurt an actors careers, that's why most stay in the closet. It has nothing to do - IMO with being ashamed. They know that the minute they admit they are gay, their career will never be the same again.

Perez should leave those actors in the closet alone!!!!!
