• This is a still picture. In the reality the two men were making a very quick movement towards each other, and the hacks (= journalists, I confirm) carefully selected the image that would help them provide the best illusion of what they intended to “prove”.
• The image is purposely blurry.
• If you zoom the picture, it becomes obvious that a Photoshop work has been done on the lights and shadows, and also on the noses and lips in order to remove all notion of perspective and all distance between the two guys.
• The hacks carefully avoided publishing a close-up of that so-called French kiss, because that would have ruined the hoax by making obvious the “slight” work they did on the picture. Unfortunately for them, the numerical picture allows the aformentioned investigation.
• Conclusion: this is just a (not so) clever optical illusion.

I worked in the press and believe me, I know what I’m talking about: I saw great experts in that kind of manipulation every day. All the journalists will deny it loudly when in public, of course, but I can tell you that in private they boast of it. What is truly amazing to me is just how gullible and deceivable some people can be. Wake up, for Christ’s sake!
But I do realise you wouldn’t be here if… Oh never mind, I don’t belong here actually, and I don’t want to spoil your fun. Believe what you want after all, it’s your problem, why should I care?

Interesting question. The way you put it, I mean.

My response would be:
I do “want” David Hyde Pierce, or Lance Bass, or Rupert Everett to be gay, because they are gay actually, and proud of it at that, and it’s okay to me. But I don’t “want” Jake Gyllenhaal, Tom Cruise, John Travolta or Kevin Spacey to “be” gay against their own consent, either because I have no clue about their sexual preference, or because I have reliable evidence that they are not what the gossips assume they are. Regarding Travolta’s case, I’m not saying I know for sure he’s not gay. I’m just saying that the so-called proof published by the tabs is a shameless set-up.

Anyway, is this about what we want or don’t want? The reality is what it is. It’s not supposed to obey our secret wishes, is it?

My turn to ask you something now:

Why is it so important to know who is gay or not in the showbiz? Why is it such a matter of fantasy and dispute?

By the way, John Mayer categorically denies being bisexual and he’s attacking Perez Hilton for lie and defamation.
