Honey don't worry, I personally didn't even expect there to be an actual A-lister ready to be outed. It was pretty obvious.

I just got a feeling it's Owen Wilson. Something odd about that hospital admission. I just felt strongly at the time that it wasn't just a suicide attempt, that something else happened. My bitter and twisted mind thought he might have been raped and that was why he went to hosptital.
And suddenly Kate Hudson appears on the scene....deflecting or what?

Wasn't it rumoured to be a heroin overdose? And Kate Hudson was on the scene long before he was hospitalised.

They're actors. They can act for as long as they need to for many reasons. It's never that big a deal in Hollywood. Daily business for actors.
I didn't think this would be anybody. I agree with the other poster that a reputable mag wouldn't dare. Most likely to be Mayer and Perez with this News Of The World thing.

OMG I can't believe you just said that. I woke up in the middle of the night for no reason and I got a drink and sat back in bed and for some reason I was just reminded, so completely out of the blue, about Owen Wilson's suicide attempt. And a thought popped into my bed 'He's gay'.
So because you said that, this is the universe's way of telling us that we're right!
I think it must have come from the Brothers & Sisters ep I watched right before I went to bed where Saul came out to Kitty. Sort of. Maybe it's a combination of both.
I'd rather it be Clooney although I want one that's surprising, not ultra-obvious. Crows have been discussing him for decades. "Ahhhhh I knoowwwww".
Anyway, if A-listers don't include Jake and Reese then they won't include Owen. If it's an A-lister then it's somebody like Brad Pitt or George or MJ or... like... Michael Douglas or someone. I dunno, that last one just popped into my head, it's just an example.

Owen ain't gay, and Kate is in love with him; when kate was filming fools gold in my town, my friend was at the restaurant on valentines day where kate and owen were at and she said there were no photographers but kate and owen were making out, she had her hand in places you don't put your hand when you're in public... she reckons thats when she knew they were a couple for real, because before that she thought it was all for publicity but there weren't doing it for the cameras; they were just mad about each other, and thought they had privacy since no one in the place seemed to care.
and what made you think he had been raped!? That's quite a thought..
The hospital visit was more likely a drug overdose.
Anyway... so I guess the magazine was Life and Style and the 'Alist actor' (pfftt) is John Mayer. I knew it wouldn't be anyone worthwhile. It just WOULDN'T happen. Big names would have the power to shut the entire magazine down.

Oh, do you think so? Except for Tom Cruise, nobody sues for being outed, because it’s totally useless. John Travolta, Kevin Spacey, George Clooney and many others are powerful people in the industry, and yet they have been outed countless times by the rags. In fact, almost every Hollywood A lister, as by chance, has gained this privilege since the mid-nineties. The tabloids earn a lot more money starting or fuelling those gay rumours about bankable stars, than they will ever lose in lawsuits. They have a dedicated budget for it. If sued, they pay, and then they carry on with their crap. They'll always find people who buy it (in all the meanings of that term).
And don’t get me wrong: when I say “crap”, God knows I don’t mean there is anything wrong with being gay. But I do think there is something wrong with using that theme as a weapon and a selling hook. A big paradox, though, is that the gay press itself plays that nasty game too (do you remember the “Superman’s gay” buzz in The Advocate a few months back?), which if I am to believe my gay friends’ opinion, doesn’t in the slightest serve the cause of gay rights.
A funny thing is, once the rumour gets started, a bunch of so-called “eye witnesses” or "insiders" pop up immediately, claiming either they had a (homo)sexual encounter with Mr So-and-So at a gym, or that they saw him with a toy boy in a gay bar, or (this great classic always cracks me up) that their closest male friend – a very straight guy of course – was aggressively hit on by him on a flight from New York to San Francisco, etc. Then there is that grapevine game on the gossip boards, and the internet being what it is, an anonymous place where anyone may say whatever they want about whomever they want with complete impunity, the buzz gets worse and worse over the years.
I’m not delusional: I know perfectly that critical or simply honest minds are most unwelcome on those boards, but I don’t care. I’m not here to patronise anybody, I just say what I have to say, period.
As to the well-intentioned person who dug into my 17 posts: oh yeah, I confess it, I am (or more exactly my current online persona is) a fanatical Spacey addict, a desperate stalker, a dangerous criminal: someone who dares believe their own eyes! And you, who are you? The Holy Inquisition or what?
And now, ladies and (possibly) gentlemen, the crucial question: is there anything wrong on these gossip boards with being straight? Come on, a bit of humour doesn’t hurt. Play nice, as they say…

He didn't overplay at all, though. In my opinion, William Hurt in Kiss of the spider woman and Philip Seymour Hoffmann in Capote were much more convincing than him in gay roles.

Anyway, I think a lot of people felt the penny dropped, so to speak. Me included. (I was gutted - and wore black for a week at least! )

It's always the same old "play gay and you'll be gay" (unless of course you're already married and the father of half a dozen, and yet). Just ask Jake Gyllenhall, he knows the problem too. He said in an interview that since his performance in the wonderful Brokeback Mountain, at least eighty per cent of his fanmail has been coming from gays urging him to come out of his closet. Crazy!

There were pictures in a tab of Kevin Spacey "canoodling" in a park with a guy. Those pictures looked very intimate, affectionate, and romantic/sexual to me.
I can't find those online-can anyone here?
Not that I care. He's awesome either way. I don't watch his movies because I want to fantasize shagging him so I have nothing invested in him being straight.

To my knowledge, they're not available on the net. Anyway, those pictures were rather harmless, if my memory serves me well. The hacks' comments, on the other hand, were actually rather "sexy", but neither affectionate, nor very romantic. Ah, well, that's what they get paid for, right?
In the same spirit, I could talk at length about that famous picture of John Travolta allegedly giving a French kiss to a guy near his private jet. So easy to deconstruct that even a 6 year old child could do it!
