I can't imagine Gale as a blonde! :O Do you think he dyed it later on or something?

Did you watch Queer as Folk? Were you shocked to see Gale on television after so many years?

All those girls who liked him but never had a chance must've DIED when they saw Gale on QAF. I bet they never dreamed in a million years they would one day get the chance to watch Gale get naked and fuck guys.

When you knew Gale did he say "you know?" a lot? I saw some of his interviews on Youtube and he always says "you know". I counted him saying it 13 times in a minute and a half. It was totally adorable. I always wondered if he did that in real life too or just cause he was nervous in interviews. Also, did he use a lot of intellectual vocabulary like calling things "meta-fascinating"?

Not bad for the yucky puberty years!

This was taken in 1982 when Gale was in the 7th grade. I've got some other yearbooks too, but they're at my mom's.

wheelbarrow: it's hard to tell that his hair is blond here, it was always kind of a sandy golden color-- it looks darker in the pic. I don't think he dyed it dark, it just darkened naturally as he got older, but it was still quite blond when I saw him back in '89 or '90.

It was crazy b/c I had never seen QAF and had no idea, but out of curiousity I was googling the names of old friends and was shocked to see that Gale was famous!

I've been able to catch several re-runs on the Logo channel, and am very impressed with his acting ability. Not to mention how gorgeous he looks on screen! Did you happen to see any of "Vanished"?

I don't remember him saying "you know" alot, but he did always use big words. He was very mature for his age and seemed to have a thing for older girls.

Awwwwww! How adorable. Thanks for posting the pic. QAF is my favorite show. He is an awesome actor. I tried watching Vanished but it's kind of weird to watch him as someone else. I've only seen QAF and one movie. In Fathers & Sons he's pretty much the same character as Brian, only straight.

Thank you so much for posting that picture of Gale! It's really cute. I love his hairstyle and adorable doe-y eyes. He's like a little deer or lamb.

He is lucky for being able to survive puberty so completely unscathed. I was a total wreck during my own puberty years. I barely recovered from the trauma of total ugliness, lol. I'm glad Gale didn't have to endure that. He was always beautiful.

I like Gale's darker hair that he has now because it makes him look more mysterious. ;D Did Gale like to be mysterious?

What do you mean by "older girls"? :O Do you mean he had a crush on the teacher or something? LOL.

I agree that Gale is an amazing actor. His face is like a precision instrument. He portrays subtle emotions so well, and is also completely uninhibited when performing dramatic/big actions. The concentration ability that actors have is very impressive. I saw some behind the scenes photos of the QAF set and the cameras were THISCLOSE to Gale's face. He always stays completely "in the moment" though and never loses focus.

I have all the episodes of Queer as Folk and Vanished stored on my computer and I would be happy to upload them for you if you want to watch. :] Have you seen any of his movies such as "The Unseen" and "Particles of Truth"?

As for Vanished, I watched all the episodes that Gale was in, but I had to stop watching after the "incident". Have you seen all of Gale's episodes? I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't.

I am on a time crunch right now so I won't be able to post again til after Monday, but I just wanted to thank you now for your generosity in sharing Gale stories and his pic with us!! I definitely appreciate the time you took to scan the pic.

Woah!!! I cannot believe I missed the progression of this thread!!! I just got back from NYC where I watched him perform in Suddenly, Last Summer with Blythe Danner and Carla Gugino. Although his role was a supporting one, he performed well nonetheless. It was so magical watching in on stage. I couldn't look at anyone else.

I just saw The Unseen and he's great in it. I think i've seen almost everything else he's been in (even random episodes of The Unit--ugh). My favorite movie with him is Particles of Truth though. I've never seen another man look so good in a friggin' shower cap scrubbing his face.

Sweetness - It's so awesome that you used to know Gale back in the day. Thanks so much for posting the adorable picture and sharing.

Besides QAF, Gale seems to choose some boring projects. It's a shame because he is so talented and these boring shows waste it. I really want to see the episode of Law & Order that he's in, but it's not out on DVD. He supposedly plays a twisted doctor who inseminates unsuspecting patients with his own sperm.

The shower cap scene is pretty great. Gale is really funny playing a neurotic person. I hope he'll pick up some comedy roles in the future. I really want to see him do funny stuff and upstage Hal Sparks!

I have been watching QAF reruns on Logo, but I want to get the dvds starting from the beginning. Gosh, I wonder how long it would take me to watch all of those!?

^ I heard about Logo doing re-runs but I also heard they were censoring it and cutting out some of the racier scenes. How true is this?

I hope they didn't cut out too many of Gale's parts.

They are cutting out EVERYTHING. I remember watching QAF back when it first came out (uncensored), so I know how down and dirty they get. The only thing it shows is kissing.

Gale was awesome in Deadwood (as Wyatt Earp) and SVU (as Dr. Garrett Lang). He was amazing in Wake too! Gosh, he's just good in everything he does. I really want to see him do a comedy too. We know he's an amazing actor, but it would be nice to see him change things up a bit.

I cannot watch the episodes on Logo because of all the editing. Some of the sex scenes play an integral role in the storyline and I hate how they butcher it. It's a friggin' hack job and really disappointing. I recommend that you just get the DVDs and watch it. Plus, all the gag reels and other bonus features are great.
