Default How many people has Entertainment Lawyer outed lately?

I remember all the outrage when Perez Hilton was doing it, and yet EL does it almost weekly and no one says boo. In the last few weeks he has outed:

Jessica Biel (today and a few weeks back)
Emile Hirsch (last week)
Queen Latifah (2-3 weeks ago)
Pete Wentz (eh who cares)
Lily allen (sorta)
Hank Azarria (kinda)

And more that I don't remember. I have to say I'm getting tired of his snark. It's more obnoxious than Perez and approaching DListed-levels of venom.

I think he insinuates that a lot of people are gay, but since I don't read him that often (except for blinds), I don't know for sure. I agree with you, it's not right to publicly out someone if they choose to be in the closet.

I might be one of the few who actually enjoy EL. I guess I am thinking everyone is outing people, have you ever been on Panache report? I swear everyone is on the DL on that site!

I like EL-he usually is pretty fair & waits till Ted C has already strongly hinted & everybody else. Hardly outing out of the clear blue!

Why do gay people want to "out" people. Don't people have the right to come out to the public or not? To some, gay men especially, it could ruin their acting careers. Why is it OUR business? I don't care about your politics and I don't care about who you sleep with.

Also, Perez is the most homophobic gay man. He spews nothing but venom towards other out celebrities, like TR Knight. "Come out, come out so I can bash you for it." I swear he must be filled with such self loathing.

^
If I looked like Perez, I'd hate myself too.

Seriously though, outing people is NOT right. Coming out is very personal and up to the individual.

That's just pointing out hypocrisy though.

So what does that say about us who speculate? I guess we're just as disrespectful with all our 'gaydar' stuff.

I have never understood the need to out someone. So what if they are gay what's the big deal? All this outing makes it sound like it's a sickness or something and we all must point the "sick" people.

It's the year 2008, who really, I mean REALLY cares about who sleeps with who? I know I don't.

Raspberry has a good point. We do speculate, gossip and have fun with it. But just because we think someone is gay, or we have heard rumors, doesn't make it so. All this speculating is not new; what is new is how quickly it can now get communicated publicly.

Outing by someone with inside information is something else and those people have to take the responsibility for possibly ruining someone's livlihood.

So I agree. If a star wants to keep it in the closet his privacy should be respected.

What gets my attention is not so much the outing, but the escapades of some of these people. Sometimes it's too much to be believed.

I have to admit complete ignorance to the gossip-monger that is Entertainment Lawyer until this very moment! *blushes*

I can only find a few entries featuring his/her blind items viaalt.gossip.celebrities - is this the only place s/he posts?

Just wondering though, do you guys think that s/he is making his/her blind items up, for the most part? Or do you think they might be - *gulp* - real? That's some pretty dirty stuff!

God only knows - one would think that people like Perez, who are gay, would be the least likely to out others, and would possess compassion about the predicament that a homophobic society puts people in! But it's almost as if, because Perez is out, he thinks everyone else should be out, too, whether they want to be or not!

I am so glad that I am not the only one out there who thinks that Perez is a homophobic, b.s.-spewing homophobe! Jeez, he really gets my goat! So much of what he saya is completely uncalled for!
