We laugh but *back in the day* people were actually shocked to find this out! My mom for one, ashamed as I am to admit it! I was only a kid when he was still alive/famous who didn't totally know what gay was, but even I knew on some level there was something going on with him!
What's inexcusable is that there were people only a few years ago who were shocked when Rosie came out! And even Ellen. Now that's just plain clueless. Or living in a bubble. Those people probably still don't think Liberace was gay!
