Default Carmen Electra to come out in Palm Springs

Just how serious are Carmen Electra and Joan Jett? Earlier reports have claimed that in the past Carmen has often spoken publicly about her 'girl crush' on the sexy rocker. And a December report noted that Carmen and JJ were seen "heavily making out" backstage at The Music Box Theater in Hollywood. But now it is being reported that Carmen will have a coming out party next week.

Star Magazine will report this week that the annual Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs has long been the event of the year for lesbians from all over the country, who gather in droves to frolic in the sunny resort city. The event this year begins on March 28th.

Star will reveal in Friday's release that this year’s event will be hotter than ever. The report out this week is speculative but says it is where bad girl rocker Joan Jett and Carmen Electra will likely go public with their sizzling new romance! "Carmen and Joan are planning on enjoying all the fun the weekend has to offer and they’ll be making a very clear statement to the world by attending together!"

The item notes that "officially" Carmen will be in Palm Springs to perform with her all-girl burlesque group, the Bombshell Babies, but insiders believe she has much more in store! “Carmen said, ‘I’m going to drop a huge bomb at the Dinah that’s going to surprise a lot of people,”” says another source. “She hasn’t said specifically that she’ll make an announcement about her and Joan being a couple, but it seems like the logical explanation!”

They should have a double coming out: Carmen and Joan, and Dave and Tommy.

I don't see the need for a coming out party. I believe she's bi, but trying to generate publicity (breathe life into a slowing down career) is pretty tacky.

This stuff is so stupid nowadays. Come on, get over it. The girl is probably bi. She's always been very open and made quite a few obvious statements that support that fact. Does she really need a "party"?

I'm always surprised when people are shocked when someone is gay, but bisexual is the 'norm' nowadays. When i told my mum I was bisexual, her response was 'at least you're not gay'. WTF? Well technically, i am!

Carmen is denying the story. Her rep said, "They are just friends. "Carmen is in London right now. She is performing in Palm Springs at the Dinah Shore Weekend with her group The Bombshells just as she did last year.”

It's so sad when people say that; or at least I think it is. You are gay, but you're also straight -- that's what bisexual is. Depending on who you're in a relationship with, that "label" can change -- and really that's all it is: it's a label.

I wonder if we'll ever get over this whole "gay" thing. Wouldn't it be lovely if nobody cared?

People always like to speculate though, its human nature. I think if more people came out, it wouldn't be such a big deal. Like Lance Bass and Ellen and whatever. They're gay, so what. It's the ones in the closet that people are more interested in. In my experience, people are more interested in what you dont admit.

I think Bi is unfair! The rest of us had to make a commitment one way or the other and so should they! Just pick a side!

bite me spidey had a really good response to this, so I'm going to repost it. It doesn't come down to picking a side, they are both gay and straight and you can't tell someone that they should just "pick a side" and entirely suppress a part of who they are.

The thing is, i PREFER males. But i like females too. Its hard to explain; when people say pick a side, i see your point, but in a way alot of bisexuals have picked a side.... Sorry if i make no sense.
