Oprah says she's not gay

After all these years, Oprah Winfrey is still dogged by rumors that she and best friend Gayle King are scissor sisters. However, in an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood last night, the queen of talk sat down with Billy Bush and discussed everything from her much talked about childhood abuse, her drug problem, and - yes - those pesky lezzie rumors.

In 1997, Oprah released a public statement proclaiming her heterosexuality, in response to a blind item that hinted that she and Gayle were carpet munchers.

"That took on a life of its own all because there was a reporter who decided that would be a cute thing for her to do," said Winfrey. "But the truth is this, if I were gay, I would have told you years ago. I would have had a coming out party on the air."

Bush asked Winfrey if she would do the same thing [issue a statement] if that were to happen now. "Yeah, I would do that and more," responded Oprah. "That was mean, that was bad, that was wrong." Wow. guess Oprah got really pissed about that one!

I know it was a long time ago but why Oprah felt the need to release a press statement about this is mind-bogling. No, actually, it's not. It gave her yet another opportunity to feel more important than the rest of the people on the planet. Why doesn't she just do every damn show of hers about HERSELF and be done with it. I mean she does 90% of the talking on her show and knows more than every expert she has on. She insults her guests and then says "Oh I'm so glad that you are here even though you are an idiot. You really are, you know." Her show is called Oprah, so of course her studio is Oprah spelled backwards...HARPO. Her magazine is the big O. We get it. You love yourself. Now stop the insanity! Yes, you had a sad upbringing but at lot of people have. So what! Like anyone (except for her fembot zombie mom fans) is going to care what she "proclaims" anyway.

I remember that blind item; about a female talk show host who was gay. And it was ROSIE O'DONNELL!!! And most people knew that, but some actually thought it was Oprah, so she made a public statement saying she wasn't, etc. After that, MORE people thought it was Oprah because of how adament she was.
She doesn't seem gay in the least. If anything, she's asexual.

Who cares?I never understood why these celebrities feel the need to issue statements about their sexuallity.My best friend of 28 years is a lesbo,she's kinda butch looking and whenever we go out together EVERYONE automatically assumes I am her woman.We think it's hilarious (!!!) I just let them think what they want,their going to anyways right?
