John Travolta and Tom Cruise...a coincidence?

Hi, I don't post very often, but I was thinking about an E! True Hollywood Story or something that I saw years back about John Travolta. Kelly Preston was quoted saying something about seeing a poster for Grease when she was a teenager, and thinking to herself that she was going to one day "Marry that man!"

Fast forward to 2005 and Katie Holmes is saying to the media that she had a poster of Tom Cruise and she always dreamed of marrying him etc.

Is this some Scientology-approved line that was fed to these women? It just seems too coincidental to me.

Not to doubt anything but didn't Katie Holmes just say that he was her childhood crush? I don't remember her saying anything about a poster.

I remember something about Katie having a poster. Don't recall the particulars, tho. I didn't know about Kelly saying that about John. If it's true, it really IS a strange coincidence...

Yeah katie said she was a huge tom fan and had posters- most girls who have a crush on a star have their posters on their wall. I've got Kate Hudson on mine

I find putting up men to be lame and i never get tired of the 'oh my god are you a lesbian?' comments

ALSO, There was a poster or magazine cover of Katie on the movie Vanila Sky (as a prop in the background) and Tom reckons he was attracted to her from back then.

Slightly off topic; but the book I'm reading calls TC 'the hetrosexual Tom Cruise' everytime he's mentioned. (I thought it was very funny!)

I remember Katie saying, or should that be 'gushing' that she had a crush on tc.
I guess this is how scientologists pick their spouses...

Actually Katie was quoted in a magazine years before she met Tom as saying that when she was younger she dreamed that she would marry Tom Cruise.

I actually heard Kelly tell the John/Poster story or Oprah or some other show years ago.

Katie's story sounded like a childhood crush where Kelly's sounded like the though it was a premonition, like when she walked past the poster this FEELING came over her.

Maybe Kelly saw it coming,it's possible.I don't know if the poster story is true or not.
John and Kelly originally met while they were filming the movie "The Experts" in 1987.She was married to actor Kevin Gage at the time,whom she met while they both were filming "Spacecamp" in 1984. She was not a scientoligist at that time she first met John either.He waited for her to go thru relationships with George Clooney and Charlie Sheen,before making his move in 1990.Kelly originally broke off their engagement,but Kirstie Alley talked Kelly into going back to John.They were married six months later.John was qouted as saying he fell for Kelly the first time they met.Why he waited 3 years to make a move is another story.
If any of you have ever seen "The experts" ,it not a great movie by any means,but you can see the chemisty between them.You can tell John was smitten.He's not that good of an actor.
