No way. My mom is ultra naive about this kind of stuff. Not that she'd have a problem with it, but trust me...we're talking about a woman who was floored that Liberace was gay!

As a mere Colonial I have no idea who most of these people are, nor to I care. But this raises and interesting question. When was the last time a celeb came out and you said "Wow, I really had NO idea". Lots of people came out and I thought "about time too" but I can't remember anyone who really caught me off left field when they came out.

Portia De Rossi was a bit surprising, although it was more surprising that she was with... ellen degeneres. That woman is just not attractive.

I think the reason no one is surprised by any outings is because everyone already thinks everyone else in Hollywood is gay.

You have heard of a good many of them though..right?..like Chastity Bono and Richard Chamberlain? I do agree that very few are a shock.

I was surprised about the 'bulldog" character on Frasier..do you get that show there? Also when that one character on Evening Shade(Burt Reynolds sitcom..I bet you have never heard of that one) came out..and was HIV positive..and then died.

The whole of Australia is on tenterhooks waiting for that one.......

When he held a press conference a couple of months ago announcing his official retirement everyone wondered if he'd take the opportunity to confirm what we all guessed years ago but no.

I didn't know about Bulldog! Isn't the guy who played Martin Crane (Frasier's dad) gay too? David Hyde Pierce (Niles) is a given of course. I love that show.

I have no idea about Frasier's dad?...I will have to look that up..and yeah DHP is a given.lol. The bulldog one was a shock to me also.(one of the few). He does a good job of making his character come across as a macho sexist pig.
