I personally don't think they are either. I get that 'A-Sexual' vibe from Oprah. I think she gets off on all her money and her perceived power.
Oprah Says She and Friend Not Gay

Oprah Winfrey and her friend Gayle King want to be clear: they're not gay.
In the August issue of O, the Oprah Magazine, the talk-show host explains that some people misunderstand her close friendship with King.
"I understand why people think we're gay," she says. "There isn't a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it — how can you be this close without it being sexual?"
In a long article, Winfrey, 52, and King converse about their 30 years of friendship and "four-times-a-day phone calls." King, who hosted "The Gayle King Show" in 1997, is an editor of O, the Oprah Magazine.
The two friends say they would have no problem telling the public if they were in a sexual relationship.
"The truth is, if we were gay, we would tell you, because there's nothing wrong with being gay," says King.
Says Winfrey: "Something about this relationship feels otherworldly to me, like it was designed by a power and a hand greater than my own. Whatever this friendship is, it's been a very fun ride."

How stupid. They are best friends, not lovers.
And all my girlfriends and I have pillow fights in our panties together.![]()

Total bollocks if I might add!
Why is it so hard to believe that 2 women can be best friends, talk several times a day and just be FRIENDS??? If they were sisters this would not be an issue, and come to think of it.....does Oprah have siblings? If not, then Gayle is like her sister. Big deal. I talk to my best friend several times a day, last I checked, I'm not gay.
She's addressed these rumors on her show, so I'm surprised she put out a press release.
Given the industry she's in, she has known Gayle from when they both started working and were nobody's in their 20's. That's the type of friend I would want if I was a powerful Gazillionaire. Someone that is loyal!
Oh for God's sake, like she is the only one who ever had a great female friendship, I've had plenty
I doubt Gayle and The Oprah are gay. I think the media plays that up trying to needle The Oprah and I suspect it probably works, too.
I don't think she's gay, but she seems to be ambivalent about sex generally. Asexual. She just doesn't give off any kind of sexual vibe at all and what about her equally strange on/off relationship with Steadman (gay as IMO).

another excuse to talk about herself
I heard gayle sleeps on the end of the bed of oprah and stedman. Geeez.
I think O is gay. I was young but my mother tells me that when Ellen came out, Oprah said that she had her own announcement to make, but once Ellen got the backlash, Oprah didn't announce anything. Hmm.
I TOTALLY agree. On one hand she (and other celebrities in similar situations) says there's nothing wrong with being gay, yet on the other hand she has to go out of her way to scream to the world media that she isn't gay.Originally Posted by SVZ
Obviously, they must think there's something wrong with being gay, or else they wouldnt' have to be so vocal in denying it. What hypocrites! Who really cares if someone is gay or not.
But it does show that the hollywood industry itself is quite homophobic for all of their rhetoric in attacking others politically for being bigots and hate mongers. That's why celebrities, especially males, have to hide their orientation or be very vocal in denying it for fear of losing roles. Sad state of affairs in my opinion.
I might not be so right on this but if people feel the need to say I'M NOT GAY, they are. If someone said I was gay, I'd laugh and be like "yeah, sure, ok", because I know I'm not, and I'm not questioning my sexuality at all. When they get angry and are quick to say those 3 words, they're hiding or battling something. Just my opinion anyway.
That's the way I see it too...Originally Posted by SVZ
