Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers is posthumously “outing” Elvis Presley. The star, who played Presley in a TV movie last year, figures the sparkling wardrobe was a sign that the King was a queen. In a recent interview, Meyers called Presley, “the gayest f—king thing on two legs.” He said: “Anyone who lives with their mama that long and dresses up in that much spangly gold and black lacquer on their eyes has definitely got something going on.”

Never got a gay vibe from Elvis. I do, however, get a huge gay vibe from a friend of mine who is straight and married ... so what do I know?

That was his rep but he often couldn't perform or just wanted to caress the women, or submit to blowjobs (who knows what he was thinking???). He had lots of hangups, prefering younger women in white panties and not being able to bang Pris after she had a baby.

Poor Priscilla ... she never did get much action from the man, did she? He wouldn't go all way before they were married and then she got pregnant right after. No wonder she eventually looked elsewhere.

I've heard and read a lot about Elvis in my life. Even known people who knew him growing up. (I live in Memphis area) I think he was a repressed homosexual. He definitely had some weird sexual fetishes. He was surrounded by his little retinue of good ole boys, that and being a famous sex symbol is why he took to being a pussyhound for awhile. But if left to his own devices, he'd have rather just hung out with women like girlfriends do. He loved women more in the same manner of the type of gay men who worship their divas.

I would bet the farm that he had repressed homo tendencies. Its a feeling I always got from him....and he was EXTREMELY close and in love with Mother. Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

The way he had Pris dolled up for their wedding was sooooooooooooooo gay. That isn't the way she looked while they were dating. She had to dye her hair like his (dyed as well). She morphed into the female version of him.

Maybe he wanted her to look like he thought he would look if he was a woman? He would get her to be what he could never be because of who he was. I have a lovely photo of him and Liberace in the fifties, supposedly when Liberace was giving Elvis advice. Taking tips from a Queen like Liberace....way to go Elvis.

No, he wasn't gay. If you know their situation, how dirt poor they were, how they literally lived in one room with the three of them until he was a pre-teen, with only one good bed between the three of them. If you know his home situation, if you know how things went down in the South at that particular time, in that particular socio-economic part of society, you'd understand he wasn't gay. As a matter of fact, he was often chased by homosexuals (one of the reasons why in Germany he quickly moved out of the baracks), like extras on his movies in Hollywood. He didn't want to insult people or hurt their feelings, but he grew increasingly annoyed by the come on's when in Hollywood. The "Memphis Mafia" was nothing but a "good ole boys" group. Though, especially in later years, there were more hangers on than actual friends around him, it started out with gathering his pals around him, who were all from the same economic background as him, those who'd stood by him and his family, and get them a piece of his cake as his life got better. To assume he did it for sexual reasons is so silly, it doesn't even deserve a reply.
Did he experiment with sex? Yes, he did, but never with men. He had some weird sexual tendencies and fantasies, but none of them included men.

I think Rhys Meyers is talking about stuff HE knows more about from personal experience. Perhaps it's wishful thinking on his part.

Am I generalizing here? Am I talking about ALL poor guys from the South? I was under the assumption that we were discussing Elvis Presley..... And please, do not judge my reply with another blanket statement that's straight out of the tabloid lexicon!

You still have made no valid argument against his gayness. His upbringing-NO. His upbringing indicates he might try to hide it more...that's it. But back then, almost EVERYONE hid it and guess what-there were still gays! The fact that he ran away from gay advances in certain cases? How is that proof? Are you buying into the stereotype of the promiscuous gay? Oh, and he DID eat those sandwiches. His cook describes exactly how to make them in several books. I am not gleaning my info from a tabloid.
