It's dumb they didn't have both models in the same pose. The "skinny" one has a bag over one side of her waist in one pic, but the "plus" size model does not, etc. They can't be truly compared this way IMO since the angles are all different. And all the outfits are ugly.

    Curves Ahead in V Magazine

Check out these shots from V Magazine’s forthcoming issue, entitled “The Size Issue” and featuring five plus-size models.
The issue, on newsstands January 14, features this spread with styling by Nicola Formichetti and shows the sexy side of the plus-size modeling world with shots of Candice Huffine, Marquita Pring, Michelle Olson, Tara Lynn and Kasia P.
Photographer Solve Sundsbo told V, “I loved the opportunity to show that you can be beautiful and sexy outside the narrow interpretations that normally define us.”
Check out V Magazine on newsstands Thursday (January 14) or visit VMagazine.com for a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot!

i think the clothes they picked out look like shit and are unflattering (especially the second outfit), but i like the last picture a lot.

It must've killed them to keep their itchy photoshop fingers from smoothing out those fat rolls.

the girl in the corset looks great, and the one on the left in the pics of the topless girls hugging looks great too, the other one should not have been put into skinny jeans.
i agree the clothing choices suck balls.

I have a feeling that there was cellulite that was smoothed out. Women are "allowed" to have curves and rolls, but cellulite is still photoshopped out. For example, here's Crystal Renn, the woman in the first set of photos and the new plus-sized supermodel, unretouched:

Wow! Plus Size? I'm sorry but at least she looks healthier?! I am a size 4/6 and I feel way closer to her (Right side) than the skinnier left side...our poor distorted views... back in the 1940's she'd be a goddess

While she is hardly plus-sized, she sure as anything looks better than the scrawny bitch next to her.

I find it interesting that in that first photo, the scrawny one has her body twisted more to one side. What's that all about? Is she trying to remind everyone that she is just soooo much skinner than Crystal Renn? Bitch needs a good feed.

120 years ago Lillian Russell was the reigning beauty of her day, and considered the epitome of what women should strive to be like.

All 186 opulent pounds of her!

The "plus size" model is curvy and sexy. The "normal" model is bordering on sickly.

What is plus size now? US 12-14? Those models aren't 16+.

I was watching Kate Winslet in "Revolutionary Road" last night. Anybody have an idea what size Winslet is in that movie? To me, she has always seemed like an actress whose body is more reflective of someone you would see every day (who isn't starving themself).

My guess, size 6. She is slender but not skinny. Excellent movie!

comsidering obesity is now an epidemic and a bigger problem than smoking it's only a matter of time before these models become the norm. the magazines and manufactuerers know their market.

You think? The build/height/weight of the average woman has been increasing steadily for several decades now, and yet the models seem to be getting skinnier. It seems to me that the as we (real women) grow there is an equal shift in the opposite direction in the unattainable image of perfection and beauty that is presented to us as fashionable and desireable.

Very little of the market genuinely seems to be about what we are and what we want, more like what they tell us we should be and what we should want while sugar coating it so it sounds like they are speaking for us. They aren't trying to sell us reality, they are trying to sell us a dream. The crock of gold at the end of their rainbow is actually a crock of shit.

That's a plus size model???? Give me a fuckin break. She has a healthy figure and it probly feels good when she hugs and you can nuzzle into her neck rather than a sack of bones!
Wake up Mutherfuckers ~ Neither of these grrrls are plus sized. Only a minus sized brain would think so
