I saw that, and honestly, it was SO much about HER, it was disgusting. She sits between these 2 obese women and cries about her horrible day in a fat suit (ONE day) and the prejudice she felt. ("They looked at me funny when I got off the bus") She was crying on these women's shoulders. It was so pathetic. Yeah, I bet that made them feel sooo much better.

Mira, I am by no means attacking you, I just thought that show was kind of hilarious and sad.

i can read your posts and disagree. it is possible.
and i still don't think tyra does real journalism. come on! if she's a real journalist then dr. phil should be taken seriously too...
i get that you like her but i've watched her show and it's true she doesn't just do make-overs but her incursions into more serious topics are still not the stuff of serious journalism. she does get an A for effort though. i suppose that's something.

I'm with sputnik on this. From what I've seen, a lot of the topics Tyra has covered, she got them from somewhere else e.g. TLC and other more journalistic/documentary type of channels, where they had more serious kinda shows on anorexia, body dismorphic disorders etc. she even invited the same people as guests from these shows! Not original AT ALL (including the fat bodysuit thing that others have done many times, not just Oprah...). And the rest is all ANTM, models and beauty stuff.
It looks to me like her show is geared towards younger audience though. But each to their own.

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

Back to the topic of the thread..........I watched the TMZ video of her in the bathing suit, I think what she did was great. It clearly shows she was made out to look larger than she really is in those photos.

She's made millions from her body, so what if she's gained some weight, it doesn't change who she is.

I am top heavy, so I know how hard it is to find clothes that fit right. If it weren't for the big boobs, a size 10 in dresses would fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I have to buy bigger sizes sometimes and then the rest of the dress hangs on my body, making me look bigger. I know exactly what Tyra's talking about and her saying she weighs 161 looks spot on to me, because she's still more toned than me. And in those swimsuit pics, she could totally be having a fat day or at a bad angle. When she poses, you know she sucks in the stomach and on her show, you know she's in bodyshapers. Real bodies look like that on the beach. I know mine does. And I'm not fat, just normal.
I totally agree, I think she's a 10. However, she looks about an 8 in the picture on the cover.
No - this is a gossip website and WE are gossiping because we are JEALOUS, FAT, and DESPERATEly in need of attention, whereas you are under the impression we're worth arguing with. Save that shit for someone who is at least worth a rat's ass. ...

A US 10 is "frikin huge"? That's news to me. I wear a 10, and although I am curvy and by no means thin, I'm not obese either.

Didn't Marilyn Monroe wear size 12 at her peak? Of course sizes were different then, but by no means was she "frikin huge"

Marilyn wore a 14 at her peak, which I think I read is equivalent to US size 8 now?

No, then I guess 14 then is 12 now, the number 12 I read in combination with her name, that's why I remembered, just not the context

PS. Noday: As of today, I want to lose 22 pounds! Started replacing breakfast and lunch with cereal today. Have to get a bit more mobile.
Do you know that US pounds are 50 grams lighter than European pounds? which means that in European pounds I weigh 15 pounds less, ouch!

Trying to think of "size" by using sizes is silly. Everyone is shaped differently, everyone is a different height. What's important is that you are active, have a healthy lifestyle, and eat well, and if Tyra does all that than who cares what "size" she is.
