He plays a journalist in State Of Play with Helen Miren, Ed Norton, Ben Affleck and Rachel McAdams. Seems thats the reason for the weight gain.

He has grown his hair long for the Ridley Scot movie Nottingham, in which he actually plays Nottingham.

I love his acting.

I'd do him, just close my eyes and shout Maximus Maximus Maximus entertain me baby!!

I wish I could tell you that one of my friends saw Russell (they're filming 'State of Play' in DC now) but they've not seen him out.
Ben Affleck was at my friend's restaurant and so was Rachel McAdams. Both were very nice to everyone.
Hopefully, I'll hear something about Russell to report back to you at the end of this week.

Ben Affleck came to the casino I used to work at a few years back (of course when I wasn't there) and everyone had nothing but nice things to say about him, which is soooo not the case with everyone famous.

I want to think that in spite of his infamous fits, Russell would be the same if you ran into him in a similar setting as opposed to when he had some kind of shit going on where it was obvious he didn't want to be bothered.

The actor Russell Crowe paid a rare visit to the (London) capital last night and was keen to make the most of it.

But as he tried to take a photo with one of his famous friends it appears a female fan was a little overzealous as she tried to get in the picture with him and Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jnr.
Crowe, 48, gave the lady a gentle shove to keep her out of the shot.

It was somewhat brave of the woman, seeing as burly Russell is reknowned for his hair-trigger temper.

But after seeing singer Elvis Costello perform live, and even jumping onstage with him - he appears to have been in a good mood.

The actor described by Costello as 'the gladiator of guitar' 'growled' his way through covers of Elvis Presley’s Evil and Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues.

One critic described him as 'actually quite a good singer.'

Russell appeared keen to show off his slimmed down figure. The actor has been puffing his way through workouts for months now after appearing somewhat on the heavy side.
But last night he looked very trim in his black suit, compared to pictures of the star seen last year.
And the Cirque Du Soir nightclub was certainly the place to be as Will.i.am also rocked up, weirdly without his phone in sight.

Russell has kept his fans updated on Twitter with his daily exercise regime and it seems the hard work has finally paid off.

Last year he appeared heavily overweight and soon started his battle back to fitness.
He has said: ‘I have to be really disciplined,’ says the father of two, whose fitness campaign involves cycling around Sydney and weight lifting at the gym.

Samples of workouts he tweeted are: ‘Two separate work-outs this morning, body movement for an hour +, then body movement with weighted objects hour +.’

Crowe tweeted in one session that he got through four sweaty shirts that morning.

He later tweeted: ‘So, no residual soreness from yesterday, quite surprised.

Walked 8km today. Aim to be taking in roughly 2400 cal/2600 cal incl all beverages.’

New Zealand-born Crowe’s battle with his weight has not been made any easier by the demands of his movie roles.

For Gladiator director Ridley Scott’s 2008 film Body Of Lies he had to put on four stone to play a CIA officer but the same director insisted he slim down for 2010’s Robin Hood.

Friends predicted that if his next role demands he loses weight, he would manage it because he’s as committed to his exercise as he is to his acting.
