I think Downey looked super in the fight-scene in Sherlock Holmes, lean raw power, moving fast, looking supple. It would have been enough for this role too. Of course it's his choise to accept a role and what comes with it, but I hope he goes back to the "Holmes-look" after it's done (still have to see the movie).

I've always been suspitious to how celebrities do this so fast. Remember Brad Pitt for "Troy" or Christian Bale going from "The Machinist" to "Batman". It takes more than a year to put on 20 pounds of pure muscle mass, it's not anything done in a coupple of weeks. Maybe if you use tons of steroids, but not if you do it clean. Ok, none of Pitt or Bale were ripped, so some of the bulk was not muscles, but it still felt like they had eaten some cheeting-pills to me. Not good, because it's too much of that stuff around in the gyms anyway, and the young ones must learn there is no easy way to muscles, but that's what the celebrities makes us (or at least young males) believe.

Hello mother fucker! when you ask a question read also the answer instead of asking another question on an answer who already contain the answer of your next question!

First, the Tony Stark character doesn't need to be a muscular guy at all. The whole point of his magic, hi-tech suit is that it enables him to be physically powerful and do all this other stuff (flying, shooting missiles, etc.)

Second, I just saw this movie. If Downey has put on 25 pounds of muscle, he must have been built like Agyness Deyn before, because he did not look especially muscular in most of the scenes, regardless of what the promotional photo shows.

    Thank you!
