Don't bother with the fries, they're "natural" which is great re: no preservatives but I swear they taste like styrofoam. Every once in a while, if you ask for them very well done and you eat them in the first 5 minutes after you get them, they taste good. But I don't even order them anymore, save your calories and just get the burger.

I get the cheeseburger, animal style (1000-island and browned onions) and it comes to 480 calories 27g fat 22g protein. It's something I try to limit to less than every 3-4 months.

It's about setting the right expectations. It's a fast food burger and as such, it's better than other fast-food drive thru burgers. It beats the pants off McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, Carl's/Hardee's. Not better than many diner burgers, certainly not a steakhouse burger.

Incredibly overrated. I'm not much of a burger but Five Guys out here (which I've eaten at all of 3 times) was better.

We have Five Guys here (not in the Keys) but when I went I got a hot dog. If I ever go again I'll try the burger.

I finally tried In and Out when I was in Cali at the end of May and I enjoyed it very much. We have 5 guys around here and I am not impressed.

I think they are basically the same place. VERY, very simple menu - nothing but burger, fries, and some drinks. All-white interior. The In-n-Out burger I had was undersized. Quite frankly, I don't know why people make a big deal about eating at a place that serves food you could just as easily fix at your house.

Where I live is close to one of the first In n Out's. Years ago I remember waiting in a long ass line for a burger and fries, close to midnight no less, and being pretty disappointed when I finally got the food.
As mentioned above, it's good for drive thru but nothing too fabulous, they're getting to be so commonplace out here no on even blinks at them anymore. I like Sonic Burger better.

While we are on the topic of overrated food, I would like to add Krispy Kreme to the mix.

I don't get the krispy kreme hype. They're gross.

I like Krispy Kreme, local is generally better though. Dunkin Donuts is shit.

I'm not a donut person anyway, but I really don't see anything spectacular about KK. I've got 2 stupid Dunkin Donuts within walking distance to my house. yuck.

It's deep-fried dough with glazed sugar on top. There is really no distinction from one place to the next. Except that Krispy Kreme customers are willing to embarrass themselves to a much greater extent by lining up in the parking lot, like they are getting priority tickets to the Super Bowl.

Yes, it's like the cult of donut shops.
