Note to self: consider the reality of "cautiously embracing leggings" as it might solve a number of problems. However! It may create a few more. Trod carefully.

I'm going to consume carbs (real carbs, not merely the non-starchy veggies) the 3rd weekend in September. I'm on mini-vacay and I deserve it. But I almost don't even wanna do it because the first few days of being back on the wagon sucks royally.

On the bright side, I haven't had to get admin to reverse an accidental banning in a while.

Motivation is such a mysterious thing to me. I've been off keto since ~January, just hadn't felt motivated to keep to it. Wine and ice cream called my name. And sushi.

Some of it I can tell is due to mom stress and boredom, but it seems more complex than that.

I put on 10 lbs and just didn't feel great, so now I'm back on after coming back from a party weekend a couple weeks ago. I'm competing with my husband on who can lose 10 lbs first. I'm 5 lbs away and everything fits better.

But this motivation thing is so elusive, I have it now but I just wish I could bottle it!

I've been off a bit here and there too for the last few months. But I've been back on it strictly for like 2 weeks. I have been going to the gym every other day too for a week. I just got back and am enjoying a nice protein rich breakfast. I don't know what kicked in? But I'm loving all the energy I have. And I'm sleeping so well.

Sometimes I just GOTTA have some ice cream, cookies and chimichangas. I don't care, I just do it. But when I'm over that phase going back to low carb is easy. I don't beat myself up over it. I try to really enjoy the the cheat meals.

I bought some zero carb bread and I'm loving it. It's spendy for sure, but if I can have some toast or a grilled sandwich, it's worth it.

what's in zero carb bread? does it actually taste like bread? is there wheat in it?

i'm on a gluten free diet and so far GF breads are a mixed bag so i'm curious about any other alternatives. i found some tasty whole grain stuff but there's also some really shitty stuff out there, especially the ones that come frozen. i bought some GF english muffins and those things are basically hockey pucks and it takes forever to toast them, and they're just not good.

eta: never mind, just googled and there's gluten. i did find some GF options by the same brand so i might check those out.

These poppers are so not good. I made these last night and threw them out after eating like 3 or 4. Even ranch dressing couldn't make them palatable. But the cauliflower crust pizzas this company makes are very good.

Yeah, that pizza might come in handy if I get a major pizza jones.

I had a lot of disappointment with those low-carb food replacements, so I generally avoid them. I made a low-carb flax bread a couple times that I found ok, but I'm lazy so that is not happening on any sort of regular basis. And my husband hated the taste of the flax flour so I was the only one eating it.

The low-carb wraps are good, either the Banderita brand or Ole brand. I often do avocado + spinach wraps for lunch, those fill me up.

bee - does your son do any kind of daycare/preschool?

it is hard taking care of a toddler all by yourself, all day, with no adult time. the reason i ask is because you mentioned mom stress and boredom.
