Kate Hudson's body is obviously better then Kate's, I agree with you there and I wouldn't encourage anyone to look at either Kate or Beth as a role model where weight is concerned. I'm just saying i'd rather see Kate in spandex then Beth, is that so bad?

that's not what i meant. and when i said it isn't what women should look like, i meant exactly what you said - that no woman should feel like she has to look a certain way. i'm not saying that one body type is better than the other. there isn't a single body type that is representative of how women look but it's also true that tall, skinny models or waifish ones like kate are not accurate reflections of the various body types out there.

Love The Gossip.

However, on this whole attitude I find it absurd that the modelling industry seems to only work in black and white. They either use models that are smaller then average or larger then average. A healthy attitude toward body shape by this industry would to be use women with a range of shapes, sizes etc. Otherwise the cycle will just continue.

I agree with you, and i understand what you're saying. I wasn't trying to offend you either. And personally when i see catwalk models, it doesn't make me want to look like them; they certainly haven't got the normal body shape and they dont look too healthy, but thats what makes them unique, and 'right' for their job. I'm so glad that models bodies have always disturbed me more than they have 'inspired' me.

totally agree with that too. models should look like models and to me models should be tall and skinny to show off the clothes. that doesn't mean i look to them as role models or as indicative of what i should look like. but tall and skinny doesn't have to be 'on the verge of death by anorexia'. i'm perfectly fine with what models used to look like in the 90s. bring back the helenas, lindas, naomis. and i love kate moss but even she looks healthy compared to the 14 year-old starving eastern europeans.

Thank you. I am petite and curvy (37-25-36) and have done some print work, but would never be right for fashion modeling and I know it. That's okay. I work out and like being fit and having toned muscles. I like being shaped like a Coca-Cola bottle even though I'd never be paid to wear Gucci down a runway.My body, to me, is sexier. However, I cannot wear many fashions that flatter tall lanky girls and I can live with that. Does anybody worry if tall skinny girls feel unpretty because they don't have a bodacious bod like the chicks in the porno rags their boyfriends jack off to?

I love them both, Kate seems to be a pretty interesting person, being where she is and doing what she does and kicking around with that fop Pete. And Beth has alot of guts, (oh god I'm freakin hilarious) for being who she is in front of the media and being proud. I love fatties* who get amongst it.

* 'fatties' is a term of endearment not chastisement or degradation, at least it is when I use it

Used to totally adore the Gossip when they did a gospel/blues/punk thing, not so keen on their new disco direction. But Beth Ditto is a fucking legend - just to see her standing in the middle of a club stripped down to her (outsize) underwear, mascara running down her face screaming into a microphone was totally awe-inspiring.
