I don't believe Heidi starves herself. Hasn't she been pregnant and had a healthy baby? Or am I thinking of someone else?

There are all kinds of different body types. It would only make sense to me that people with the naturally thin body type dominated modeling.

And God help me if Heidi Kulm is "too round" for anything.

Some people are just genetically skinny, Keira comes to mind - she has always had a very small frame, I don't think she starves herself. But many models look emaciated or sickly, or just coked out. I think theres a difference between being genetically skinny and looking like a rail with huge bags under your eyes and your cheekbones protruding.

I think that some people really are naturally skinny. I'm not one of them. You can tell whether a person starves themselves or its natural, it shows on their face & skin tone. Interesting article on AIS by the way. I had no idea what that was.

models need to shut up about weight already. Your skinny, your curvy, big deal. Just do your job, and we dont need to hear you talk.

You can usually tell the difference between naturally thin and unhealthily thin- Ive seen girls who had hips starve themselves down to no curves. They end up looking really pale, like they're sick, and dead in the eyes.

As for models, i dont even think of them as real people. They look so dead to me, so its never affected my body image. They can be a bag of bones for all i care.

I agree with Heidi that some models are naturally skinny and they can't help it....but on the other hand some of them look sickly, and I think them eating a little more wouldn't hurt.

Last night I was having dinner with a friend and this absolutely beautiful woman walked by. She WAS very thin, but very beautiful nonetheless. I made a comment about how gorgeous I thought she was and my friend said "Nah, not enough meat on her bones."

Thank GOD that there are still men out there who do NOT find super skinny attractive. Most of the men I know have told me the same thing (even my slacker 20-year old son)!!

I think Heidi has a really good attitude. What I am getting from this is that she's not trying to be something she isn't, but is embracing what she has. Her body is more suitable for commercial modelling and VS than it is for high fashion runway and editorial. She knows that and uses it to her advantage.

I also agree that a lot of girls are naturally skinny, especially when you consider the age group of models. Most models start out in their early or mid teens these days. I don't know when the average age of retirement would be, but I expect it to be quite early (mid to late twenties?). Metabolism is still on their side for many of them at this point.
