It is very disturbing! These models are all way to thin to the point of death!

    YouTube - Too Thin

Most of these images have been altered...and most models do not look this
    bony and deathly.

Some of the really young models can pull off thin and lean, but if you don't
already have the bone structure for that look it wont look right, and bones
    will protrude unnaturally.

I think instead of telling models to lose 10 lbs, if anything they should be
told to tone up and have a healthy diet. I don't believe in BMI personally,
as everyone's bodies are built differently.

I agree with what has been said, a variety of body types out there would
be a lot more interesting and put a more healthy image on our society.

I think skinny models look gross

ITA! Other than Giselle, I can't identify most models these days. They all look the same.

They want models to look like clothes hangers. No, seriously. This is the general consensus amongst designers.

The problem is, while the goal used to be to have models that would make the clothes look like they would look on the rack, thus forming the dynamic: good on the model, good on the rack, NOW the designers are designing FOR the clothes-rack models...and cutting out their clientel, who are binging and purging to keep up.

And a generation's worth of models are trying to look like clothes racks.

So yeah, the whole thing sucks.

Well whenever they say they want the models to look like clotheshangers and not change the shape of the clothes...i just roll my eyes because you can have THIN straight up and down models where the clothes hang on the body WITHOUT looking like an emaciated skeleton......You CAN have thin models WITHOUT bones sticking out which has NOTHING to do with the clothes.
BONES DONT NATURALLY STICK OUT......that argument is sooooo not valid.

Yeah, because it's easier to design for a body with as few curves as possible. Asshole designers just want to streamline their own work and don't want the challenge of designing around a real body and making it look good.

Sadly, there wasn't anything photoshopped in that picture.

Remember Christie Brinkley? Granted, I don't think she ever did runway but still. She had healthy, sexy proportions and she radiated beauty.

Models of yesterday were so filled with life you don't see that anymore. They looked like women now todays models are fragile and child-like.
I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep.

So true , besides Giselle and Adriana Lima who do have a different look, the other models are just clones.

Victoria's Secret models used to be sexy now it's all about being extre slim and tanned.
