I think Beyoncé looks very good in the before pic too - I wouldn't mind having that figure! Those are definitely shaded abs, though; very silly, but she still had a great body - muscular, healthy and curvaceous. She's very nicely proportioned.
I honestly don't think that Courtney Love lost much weight between the before and after pic, though. She looks like she's lost some fat and bloat and built muscle, and that's great, she looks much better. But muscle weighs more than fat, and she's not really thinner, just stronger, healthier and more fit. She should weigh as much as before, or more, and these experts must know that and should say so.
Weighing as little as possible shouldn't be a goal in itself; a normalweight or only slightly overweight person, like Courtney, who burns fat and becomes fitter and thinner by exercise rather than just diet will not lose a lot of weight, may even gain some in the long run - but he or she will look and feel a hell of lot better.
Glad they stated the obvious and adviced Nicole to gain some weight.
