I love Aretha, fat or thin. Bitch can SING and one of the few singers (alive or dead) who can move me to tears. She's fantastic.

She looks great in the 2nd pic, and I can definitely tell she's lost some poundage.

Wow, amazing weight loss. Good for her. I can't believe how enormous she was. She should lose that feathered muff thing though, it takes away from her too much.

Good for Aretha - she's a legend. I thought gastric bypass at first as well, but here is what she said about that in 2007:
    No surgery?
I would never, ever do that. I know many women who [had gastric bypass surgery]] who are having a bad time now, unfortunately. It's nothing I would ever do.

Still, she has lost a LOT of weight in just a few months.

    Aretha Franklin -- 2 Days, 2 Weaves, 1 Dress

After wearing this sparkling copper gown with a dyed-to-match polyester wig to the Tony Awards on Sunday (left), Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin wore it again on Monday -- but this time with a frizzy 'do -- to perform at the Apollo Theater with her pocketbook (right).

She looks better--but I don't think she's lost a LOT of weight. I think it has a lot to do w/dressing properly for her size...

People say all the time that they'd "never" do something & then they do it, so I'm not putting much stock in that statement.

That said, she looks a lot better.

^^^ - I can tell you that the majority of people who had gastric by-pass, myself included, start off saying I would never do that. I would never risk my life. I'll do it on my own.

Are you glad you did it? I have a friend who desperately wants to have it done, but her doctor says she is not ready.

She's still fat, but she's gotta a powerful voice. Ahhh fuck, she doesn't annoy me so I'm saying something good about her. You see, I AM a nice guy.
