    Okay -- 800 calories = eight packets of instant grits. That would not only hold you over for the whole day, but you'd probably feel kind of bloated.

    I couldn't survive on 800 calories a day, that's way too low for the average man. That and with a workout plan like his, I'm surprised he hasn't collapsed or anything. God for him losing the weight, but I don't think he did it in the most healthiest way.

    I was disappointed int he low level of journalism in the article. A before shot was almost necessary to the story.

    i'm pretty sure the pic with his wife is the "before". look at that one compared to the opening one.

    800 calories is way too low. if you don't want your body to go into starvation mode, you need to consume 1,200 calories and even more if you are working out (iirc).

    i can't find a source to back it up but i just don't think it is healthy, regardless of what your doctor says. especially when he says he's working out 6 days a week. sorry

    I think he looks good for loosing the extra poundage, but I wouldn't say he's lost 75lb. Thats FIVE stone.... never!

    In the second picture, he's not wearing his toupee. Maybe that thing weighed about 15 pounds - made of stainless steel or something.

    Hate to break it to you all but as you get older you need fewer calories before you start gaining weight. It's absolutely possible to live on 800 per day if you focus on salads, lean meat/fish, no alcohol and very limited carbs. It's unhealthy for a younger person who uses a lot of energy but for someone in their 50+s it's almost a necessity to cut right back if you want to maintain a healthy weight. Just you wait and see......
