Country singer Wynonna Judd is getting in shape for 2009 - as the new face of a weight-loss product. The heavyweight star, 44, will front slimming pills Alli - and she's hoping her public weight battle will help others who are struggling with similar issues.
She says, "This is about me picking something that I know works for me. I can still plan (my work) and not feel like Alli is dictating my life as I have in the past on other programs. It fits into my schedule. I don't have diet goals. My goals are to live as happy and healthy as I can. People can see themselves in me and say, 'You know what? If she can do it, I can do it.'"
"I hope people will be inspired by the face that I've overcome a lot, I'm still here and it's a miracle."

For real. I thought about using Alli, & when I read the list of potential side effects, I was like, "uh, I'll pass!!" It was really gross.

I saw her commercial and couldn't tell she's lost any weight, but she was talking about how it has worked for her. I guess they're going to follow her through the year as she loses weight?

I'm not familiar with Alli, but I think it works by removing the fat from your diet and if you overdo it on the fat you get, er, some unpleasant side effects in the form of explosive diarrhea. Ick. I'd rather just eat right and exercise.

I saw the commercial too and damn, that bitch looks old. I regretted my choice of 50" screen when her heavily lined and made-up-like-a-trailerpark-hooker face loomed on my screen last night. Her mom looked so much better at her age. That must suck for her. And here we go with another celeb weight loss saga. Girl can sing, though.

I think it's the same drug, just Alli is lower dosage, over the counter.

Look for the "inspirational" people magazine cover story coming soon as well as oprah, with people gushing about how 'great' she looks, great for her, BARF.

Then 6 months later pics of her will surface here as she once again is chunkified, and people say oh she doesn't look so bad she carries her shape well etc. etc.

pretty dumb of her to endorse a diet pill instead of old fashioned diet and exercise, too many Americans already believe these pills are quick fixes when they're not- most of them are bullshit and made up of mostly caffeine

It's a crappy drug, figuratively and literally. I was under the impression that it only blocked 30% of the calories ingested by fat --- which isn't much savings if one is on a low fat diet. My advice, eat a carrot and hit the treadmill.
