BECKINSALE REGRETS ANOREXIA REVELATIONS

KATE BECKINSALE insists too much has been made of her teenage anorexia because her eating disorder didn't last long.

The British actress regrets speaking publicly about her anorexia battle because there are more deserving cases.

She explains, "It was a very brief moment that was made into a big deal... I find it hard to categorise myself as having been anorexic. I just had a miserable six months.

"I was a nice posh girl from West London, so I probably wasn't going to become a crack addict... and that's the thing you do if you're a girl who grew up in a private school."

That is silly, there is no time limit on anorexia.....she should be proud that she got herself out of that horrible 6 months.

Judging by the recent pictures of her at that burger joint, it looks like she doesn't eat much if anything at all.

She's "posh" enough to reject food. Ugh, I HATE spoiled people!

We were all unemployed here at home until last week. We're all out of cash and the only things that haven't been cut yet are the light, water, and telephone/DSL (but soon will be from lack of payment). I opened my fridge today to find tomatoes and a bottle of Pepsi. I'm spending my day and going off to work tonight on a near-empty stomach out of lack of choice. I'll probably only get to eat properly tomorrow, when I take the little that's left to buy rice and beans at the market and make arrangements to have my little sister eat proper meals at my aunt's until I get payed.

I appologize to those with EDs on the board, but how can people be so spoiled as to reject/throw away food? That's my beef with EDs: those who have them, open your minds, grow the fuck up and thank God for the food you have on your table.

Gosh, Pandora -- I'm sorry you're in that fix. I've been there a couple of times as a student and it's the worst feeling in the world. Wish I could bring over a care package.

It's pretty rough, huh? It's just a stage in life I guess, and hopefully one that will be pass soon. In the end this sort of situation only makes us stronger.

My major worry is my little sis. My pets have food for the month, mom and I can take care of ourselves (father and older sister are working out of the state). She can't do without proper meals.

Thats the thing, when you have anorexia your mind is malfunctioned. You are a prisoner of a little demon in your mind that you cant wish away or overcome with willpower.....its not about growing up or being spoiled or ungrateful , it is a malfunctioning mind that doesnt allow you to feel like you deserve to put food in your mouth as much as you want to. Now , recovery is an option but takes an enormous amount of commitment and treatment.

Then why is the vast majority of the people who have it are young women who are either supported by their parents or have a shitload of money? It's a malfunction in you mind? Yes, it is, but I see it as a problem people create for themselves when they don't really have a problem. It's like a need to create a problem for yourself when you're bored from not having real issues in life that you can't help.
