A Lighter Aretha

Aretha Franklin gave an interview to the Associated Press where she talked about how she's feeling much lighter these days thanks to a trainer. Aretha will perform at the Grammys this Sunday with Mary J. Blige. She's also getting ready to release a new album on her label, Aretha's Records. What a creative name. She should have called it Two Squirrels Fighting Under A Blanket Records instead.
She said, "I've got a new trainer, and she's giving me a lot of good things, really educating me about nutrition and weight loss and how to do it, and cooking stuff for you. I'm not on a diet. It's a lifestyle change. I'm going to be doing it for the long run. And eventually I'll reach my goal."
I'm guessing her goal is when she can finally see her toes. Aretha went on," I feel lighter. I'm not as heavy, what you get with the red meat. You dragging yourself along when you have all that red meat. Much lighter. I feel a lot lighter, and a lot better."
I love Aretha no matter what. I just pray that those enormous breastes go nowhere. I also pray that she wears a low-cut dress at the Grammys on Sunday. That would make my February. Screw the dress! I hope she comes in pasties.

I'm glad to see her losing weight.

She's aged quite well, too.

^Yeah, me too. But at least she's taking the first step, and changing her whole lifestyle. That's an important step. And she's not as annoying as Kirstie Alley.

She sounds like she's losing for the right reasons this time, or at least she's giving lipservice to them. I remember the last time she lost a little, saying it was for her wedding and she couldn't wait to hit the fattening food again afterwards.

i watched her interview, it was painful. she couldnt talk without taking a very raspy hard breath.

I guess Ree Ree finally looked in the mirror and realized that she didn't have the body to be wearing low-cut anything. Hope the diet works out for her.

Hopefully, she's still not stuck on Halle Berry playing her in the movie about her life-story. Now THAT'S being delusional.

I hope it works well for her also. I can say that if she has cut red meat out of her diet, she is on to something... It does weigh you down!

And I will agree with you on that one!! I am a bigger Aretha fan than I am Beyonce...beside the over exposed boobs, it is easy to defend Aretha!!

Oh, Aretha is definitely one of my favorite female vocalists, I just can't deal with looking at recent pictures of her (because of the aforementioned overexposed boobs).

And now I'm imagining Beyonce attempting to sing "I never loved a man" doing those annoying runs she does. It's not a pretty mental image.

Good for her. I just hope she doesn't end up looking like Starr Jones does now, because she looks weird.
