Anyway, maybe it's because we women are nice enough that we prefer to remember that he once looked like this:
 
Damn. Couldn't find a full body shot, but this is close enuff.
Didn't see it at the time, but the sexual tension between Val and Tom Thumb was practically palpable in this flick. If Maverick and Ice Man got any closer up in one another's faces in some of those scenes they woulda kissed.
