After his heart scare, David Bowie took a year out to revitalise mind and body.
The result, as shown in pictures 12 months ago, was a rosy glow, a bulkier figure and even a double chin.

Yesterday came the return of the Thin White Duke, the persona he adopted in the late 1970s. As Bowie, 60, stepped out at a fashion industry event in New York, he appeared to have shed pounds, and rediscovered the wiry frame that has epitomised his image over four decades.

....that was probably water retention if he was having heart problems, not actual fat......heart failure (not an attack) causes the heart and lungs not to remove water from the body as well and the fluid backs up into your tissues making you appear enormous.
One of my co-workers was in congestive heart failure and once they put him on diuretics, he lost 80 lbs......in two weeks....all of fluid......

Yeah, could be. He had a "puffiness" that didn't look like simply fat. He looks like the type who wouldn't run to fat easily anyway.
