The possible reason why Jessica Simpson gained weight . . .

I've never posted before but I have been an avid reader for some time now. I noticed some magazines were commenting on Jessica Simpson's weigth gain. They claim she's gained 30 pounds since the summer. Well it got me thinking that maybe she gained so much weight because she's on some kind of anti-deppressant. She has admitted to seeing a therapist and these types of medications are know to make you pack on the pounds. Well, I just think this could be a possiblilty.

Yeah I've seen at least one magazine that said she's gained 30 lbs, but I'm not sure that I believe it. 10 lbs, maybe, but I also think she dropped a little weight beofre she did Dukes of Hazzard... then gained it back. There's no way she weighs as much as they're saying though... what was it, 132 lbs? Not at 5'3", no way!

I actually do think she's about 135. I'm about that weight and height and, I think that's about where she is.

Are you as thin as her? Because I'm 5'2 and I'd be chunkier than her at 132. Of course everyone's built differently, so I don't know. If I looked like her, I'd weigh about 120.

ETA: We need some recent pics of her where you can see her body... maybe she's not as thin/normal weight as I was thinking.

^^ Yep. I have a fair amount of muscle mass but my body fat is around 17-18%. I'm guessing that's why she looks pudgier in some photos. Girls with a fair amount of muscle (I think Jessica has a fair amount) look bigger faster with only a couple pound weight gain.

If you work out quite a lot and have good muscle tone it is indeed possible to be pretty thin at 5'2" and 120-130. I know because I'm this height and have worked out with weights and ran since age 19 and 120# is thin for me. I was getting ready to drop to this weight for the summer the year I got pregnant with my son (got pregnant with him in March) and I weighed 126# and wore size 4. I haven't been able to get under 134# since he was born and it pisses me off. But then again I don't have the time to work out the way I used to (as often or as intense) since my priorites have shifted. Still, I'm not exactly fat even at that weight. But I know people my height who are. So I guess a pound of muscle really does take up a lot less space than a pound of fat.

And like the above poster just said, she probably quit snorting. Maybe all the vodka is catching up to her. Alcohol does slow doen the metabolization of fat.

She had a long body too so it wouldnt be impossible to look that thin and be at that weight. I think the weight gain is from partying. She's been drinkng really heavily and, if she had given up the gym, thats the easiest way to put on weight really fast. Its also hard to maintain the low percentage of body fat she would have had for Dukes unless she was at least doing the same amount of work she was doing to get down to that size to being with.

Hm..she does have a weird body shape..her body's actually pretty long..but she has these really short legs..and huge head..she does look pretty thin..but the recent pics i saw of her in magazines..i didn't really see it as being muscular..or toned..
