Default Celebrity Calorie Counter: How much are they eating?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1879

Yesterday hollywood actress KIRSTIE ALLEY revealed how at her heaviest she demolished up to an astonishing 28,000 calories a day.

That's the equivalent of two large slices of chocolate cake, a 10oz sirloin steak in butter sauce with chips, 12 fizzy drinks, nine coffees with full-fat milk, salad with creamy dressing, six cups of pasta, pasta sauce and butter, a glass of red wine and a hot chocolate to finish.

Kirstie's eating binges meant that she ballooned to 15st at her heaviest. But in a battle to beat the bulge she shed 7st and posed in a bikini on the Oprah show to show off her new figure.

Kirstie now eats healthily around 1,500-2,000 calories a day and fronts a slimming advertisement in the U.S., but what about the other celebrities?

Drawing on what other stars have said about their own eating habits, Femail asked a nutritionist to estimate how many calories they eat in a day.

RENEE ZELLWEGER: for both Bridget Jones films Renee consumed 4,780 calories a day for three months, eating 20 doughnuts a day, battered beef, fast-food burgers, chips and shakes as well as pizza and peanut butter.

After the first film, she embarked on the Atkins diet. Now the 5ft 5in star maintains her 7st figure on tuna, cold meats, dressing-free salads and raw vegetables.

    Two poached eggs: 148 cal.
    One banana: 95 cal.
    One tuna steak: 180cal.
Two portions dressing-free mixed salad: 100 cal.
100g cured thinly sliced beef: 160 cal.
One portion raw vegetables: 90 cal.
    Total: 773 CAL.

KATE WINSLET: Having weighed more than 13st at school, she earned the nickname Blubber and was mercilessly teased. In 1992, she realised she was being cast for her size and lost 3st inside 12 months, leaving her a healthy 10st.

But two years later she convinced herself the industry would grant her entry only if she was skinny. She existed on only an apple a day and her weight plummeted to 7st 10lb.

In 2003, while pregnant with her second child, Joe, she gained nearly 4st. She lost this following an Oriental face-reading diet where an analysis of skin, hair and eyes determined the best way for Kate to shed the pounds. Kate ate no red meat or milk, instead filling herself on chicken, potatoes, salad and butter.

    One tuna salad: 386 cal.
One portion roast chicken: 255 cal.
One large baked potato: 176 cal.
    One tbspn butter: 102 cal.
    Total: 919 cal.

MICHELLE McMANUS: At 5ft 1in, at her heaviest the Pop Idol winner tipped the scales at 22st. With the help of health expert Gillian McKeith, Michelle finally gave up pizza and wine and lost 8st in a year. She has slimmed from a size 26 to a size 16. Now she has vowed to stick to a strict detox diet.

    One muesli bar: 150 cal.
    One chicken salad: 470 cal.
    One bowl roasted vegetables: 320cal.
    Steamed cod: 90cal.
    Two apples: 88 cal.
    One banana: 95 cal.
    One tuna steak: 180 cal.
    Total 1,393 cal.

LIZ HURLEY: In the past, Liz has admitted to 'eating very little breakfast, not too much more lunch. Then tiny little snacks in the day, such as a banana or six raisins. The only meal I have is dinner'.
Dinner consisted of a combination of brown rice, oatcakes and steamed fish. She also takes regular pilates classes which burn around 300 calories per session.

    One banana: 95 cal.
    Six raisins: 10 cal.
One 100g serving brown rice: 111 cal.
    One oatcake: 48 cal.
One portion steamed cod: 90 cal.
One portion steamed haddock: 95 cal.
    Total: 449 cal.

FERN BRITTON: This Morning presenter Fern's size 18 frame was captured in a bikini last year. But the mother of four defended herself against the cruel newspaper headlines: 'Do I want my kids to see me moping around depressed? Wouldn't it be better to be thought of as a jolly old soul?'

    One spanish omelette: 550 cal.
One bowl chicken soup: 190 cal.
    Two bread rolls: 198 cal.
One Snickers chocolate bar: 311 cal.
Two grilled lamb chops: 368 cal.
One portion roast potatoes: 240 cal.
One glass red wine: 83 cal.
    Total: 1,940 cal.

GWYNETH PALTROW: Mother-of-two Gwyneth has followed a macrobiotic diet for years. Recently she adopted a diet prescribed by celebrity health guru Dr Joshi.
As well as dairy, red meat and alcohol, she is banned from eating wheat, tomatoes, peppers, fruit, sugar and gluten. Typically she eats celery sticks for breakfast, lentil soup for lunch and salmon with brown rice for dinner.

One portion celery sticks: 10 cal.
One portion lentil soup: 150 cal.
    One portion grilled salmon: 127cal.
One 200g portion cooked brown rice: 216 cal.
    Total: 503 cal.

KELLY OSBOURNE: After dinner with Sir Elton John in 2003, Kelly suffered severe food poisoning. She vowed never to eat a piece of fish again sticking to cheeseburgers, hot dogs and chips. Besides, she recently told Teen Vogue: 'Skinny celebrities look beautiful in photographs, but when you see them in person they look hungry.'

One bacon double cheeseburger with relish: 708 cal.
One portion large French fries: 570 cal.
    One vanilla milkshake: 211 cal.
One hotdog in white bun: 242 cal.
One portion fried onions: 180 cal.
One large Coca Cola: 255 cal.
    Total: 2,166 cal.

CLAUDIA SCHIFFER: For supermodel and mother-of-two Claudia, a 'no breakfast' rule works best. She says: 'I eat nothing but fruit and vegetables before noon.' When she does eat, her diet consists of grilled chicken salad and water for lunch and a dinner of steamed fish, steamed vegetables and water(she does not drink alcohol).

    One apple: 47 cal.
    One orange: 37cal.
One 100g serving grapes: 60 cal.
One portion grilled chicken breast with no skin: 215 cal.

    One portion steamed cod: 90cal.
One serving steamed vegetables: 38 cal.
    Water: 0 cal.
    Total: 537 cal.

DAME KELLY HOLMES: The double Olympic champion has said her calorie intake is an average 3,000 a day. Breakfast is orange juice, followed by Bran Flakes, yoghurt, honey and mandarin slices, apple juice and water.

Then a number of vitamin supplements and carbohydrate drinks and another bowl of cereal around 11.30am. A lunch of chicken salad sandwich follows and brown rice, salmon, vegetables and a mixed leaf salad for dinner. At 5ft 4in and only 55kg, Kelly is obviously burning off her chocolate and nuts fetish.

One glass orange juice: 112 cal.
Two 120g servings Bran Flakes: 550 cal.
One pot natural yoghurt: 90 cal.
    One tsp honey: 20 cal.

One bag cashew nuts 700 cal.
    Vitamin supplements: 300 cal.
    Total: 3,039 cal.

VICTORIA BECKHAM: Before the birth of her third child Cruz, Mrs Beckham was on the strawberry diet. She ate a bowl of strawberries for breakfast and little else for the rest of the day, except for litres of mineral water.

With such strict calorific intake, she maintained her 23in waist the same measurement as a seven-year-old child's. Victoria upped her eating when she fell pregnant, but five weeks after Cruz was born her flat tummy was back. She said it was down to 'sensible eating' and sticking to solely Spanish food.

Victoria reportedly ate lots of paella, olives and omelettes to shed the baby bump.

    152g of strawberries: 49 cal.
    One portion paella: 320 cal.
One 200g portion cooked brown rice: 216 cal.
One 8g portion olives: 10 cal.
    Total: 595 cal.

PAULA RADCLIFFE: Paula eats almost double the daily allowance for a woman, but she does hold the world record for a marathon 2hr, 15min and 25sec. Her average daily intake is made up of exotic meat such as ostrich and venison with vegetables, porridge and chocolate for a sugar boost, and a sandwich or salad for lunch.

One 100g portion porridge: 100 cal.

I don't know if they really eat like this. But if that's what it takes to look like them, I may as well forget it. I love my food too much!!

Yeah sounds like a lot of fun. You might be able fit into a size 00 but you won't have the energy to stand upright.

Just realised something. It said Kirstie Alley was 15 stone and shed 7 stone to appear on Oprah.

There's no way in hell she ever weighed 8 stones (112lbs) did she?? She's a tall woman. She'd have been really underweight and I've never seen her look THAT skinny even in her Cheers days!!!

As for Liz Hurley, if she is permanently existed on less than 500 cals a day, she'd be positively skeletal by now! If this calorie count IS true, she must have slowed her metabolism down considerably.

I can't believe these celebrities manage with less than half of the recommended intake of calories! Where are they getting their energy from? I mean when I was on winter break I had days where I'd eat a small small amount just because I wasn't hungry but I wasn't actually DOING anything. If I was working or something I never would've survived!
All you can do at life is play along and hope that sometimes you get it right.

LOL!!! Oh Moog! When I read this I was shouting what BS this was!!! I'm the same height as Kirsty, however, I don't have her wobbly tummy, and I'm (or was, I've lost s-o-m-e....) XX stone.... ok, I'm heavier than she's quoted here* and I'm NOT as fat as she is!!!!! We're probably a similar body type too. I'd put her at 2 stone heavier than is quoted here (minimum!) and I don't believe that she lost SEVEN stone to appear on Oprah (for the US:- she went from 210 to 112). I think that she was 168 minimum coz you never see the full extent of her hips or thighs. Kirsty You're lying!!!

    http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniont...fatactress.jpg http://images.oprah.com/images/tows/...02_350x263.jpg

Also if she weighted 112LBs - she's look like Nicole Richie - at her worst!!!

As for the rest of these fuckwits, I cannot believe that they only eat 500 caleries per day; no wonder they make such bad decisions. When does brain function shut down?

    * Actually, I've just realised that I'm not, I'm about the same weight, but she still looks fatter than me. God, that's SO sad... my claim to fame is that Kirsty Allie is fatter than I am.... Urgh! I'm motivated!!!!
Oh & when I weighed 125 my pa thought I was ill!
LOL! That extrat 1.5" on my height must make all the difference.....
They're claiming that she was 145lb on Oprah....

Good luck with your weight loss, Novice! I am on a diet for summer myself. At 5ft 10 I am a tall girl myself!

As for Kirstie, they must think we're idiots to believe that she ever weight 112lbs! Last time I weighed that I was in high school (before puberty) came along and I had no breasts/hips, nothing. Then I got my curves and the weight's gone on steadily ever since!!!

500 Cals a day? Gwyneth does not look starved. And eating no fruit at all really isn't good for you. I am on a gluten free/ dairy free/ sugar free diet(because of celiac disease) and I still have an orange for breakfast!
