Is Angelina Jolie anorexic?

When angelina arrived at the golden globes on jan. 15, many were shocked by how frail the once curvaceous actress looked. the recent death of her beloved mother may push her over the edge; she has barely been eating at all. "she's rail thin," says a source of angie, who is estimated to carry just 118 lbs on her 5'7" frame, while 140 pounds is the norm for her height.

"you're afraid to hug her because she might break." "angie doesn't seem to have a healthy appetite," a source says. "when she's depressed or stressed, it's worse." it seems that even before her mom's death, food wasn't that important to angie. she reportedly fainted three times times last october while shooting a movie in india, and a source told star at the time, "she's surviving on trail mix." brad is now deeply concerned about how thin she's become. "he's worried. he tries to plan meals, but she doesn't seem interested."

I'm 5'7 and I wasn't aware that 140 lbs is the norm for my height?
Go figure. Who determines this stuff? I know it isn't a doctor.

Yes, she does look too thin, I agree. She looked much better with meat on her bones. But her arms and back have always been rather lanky, or boney. I'm also going to go ahead and say that if she weighed the 'normal' 140 lbs, there would be another thread and it would say 'Angelina Jolie overweight'. There's no winning.

I've thought Angelina has been too thin for a LOOONG time...

She's been wasting away for awhile now, but she definately does not look healthy at all...

I think she looks gross, but maybe she likes being skinny. I am not surprised she hasn't been eating after losing her mum. Some ppl (like me) eat too much, some just lose their appetite.

I just love the juxtaposition on this front page of calling Angie too SKINNY then saying a thin looking (Well to me anyhow) Britters looks pregnant....hmmmm

That's crap, the 'norm' is having a BMI between 18 and 25, lots of weight values are included there.

Anyway, back to Angelina. If she did lose weight following her mother's death, that doesn't necessarily make her anorexic, lots of people stop eating for a period after a great shock/when grieving, but they don't share the psychological symptoms those suffering from anorexia nervosa have.

In general...not necessarily. She's always been skinny, and she has a hectic schedule and three kids. My cousin who has always been skinny has gotten to Angelina proportions since getting married and having her kids, simply because she never finds a moment to sit still.

When the hell are these Hollywood scarlets going to get it through their thick skulls that skinny is not bloody sexy! I said this before, Angie looked so much hotter when she was curvy, now that she has lost all this weight she looks much older.

She's always been thin.
I still think she was the humanitarian on heroin, which is sad. That would definetly explain the weight loss- most heroin users are sticks. My Dad has always been skinny because of his heroin use and never really had an appetite either, so Angelina probably doesn't eat much.

yes she has always been thin, but not THIS thin. she is not anorexic, just on heroine. sorry about your dad, stayyoung&pretty. has anyone noticed Brad's type of woman? When he and Jen got together, she was very skinny with long hair. Gwen was skinny with long hair. Angelina is beyond skinny with long hair. ALso, apparently he chooses women with family issues.

Okay I got this from a first-hand source years ago when I lived in LA...

She was indeed riding the "train" and one of the reasons she and BB broke up was after she adopted Madd she quit and BB refused or couldn't give it up so they broke up. However she was not as skinny as she is now but in Girl Interupted she was supposedly on the "H".
