Svelte actress Mischa Barton has called on Hollywood to turn its back on extreme dieting and celebrate "womanly curves" instead.

The former The OC beauty worries pictures of skeletal stars in magazines and newspapers is promoting eating disorders among young girls, and wants publications to stop their unhealthy obsession with weight.
She says, "It's so wrong to try and stifle womanly curves, it shouldn't be promoted."
"This unhealthy look should be abandoned."

I'm pretty sure she's naturally slender - she just has that sort of body type, skinny but skinny fat but it's a bit odd for her to say if she said it at all.

She's thin but she's also very fat. That girl doesn't have a muscle showing on her body. Everything is very thin and wobbly. So, technically, she has a right to speak up.

Why, she's skinny-fat! That's a well known syndrom among socialites who never work out, but are skinny by other means. Actually, I've known quite a few skinny-fats myself. They look great when covered up, but they have cellulitis and fat all over.

Wel-known skinny-fats: Mischa (she's their queen), Nicky Hilton, banned (flabby butt), Kate Moss, Lindsay on bad days, etc.

Even though I think she's just a naturally skinny girl, WTF? Has she not looked in the mirror or read any tabs? She does not have womanly curves, and she's usually on those "too thin" lists. If she really wanted to put a stop to it, she should make a statement by gaining weight. Even if she's naturally thin, girls like Christina Aguilera were able to go to a nutritionist and gain weight.

Feh. She's only jumping on the "chicks are too thin!" bandwagon now that she's getting older and all the coke in LA isn't going to make her as tiny as the rest of them with those wide hips of hers. I guess she finally took a long look at her mom and realized her future once she slows down on the partying and dries out. Never seen so much ribcage on someone with her saddlebags. The textbook def of "skinny-fat" she is.
