It's possible one of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through.
So it comes as little surprise that the breakdown of Jennie Garth's marriage has taken its toll on the 90210 actress.
The 40-year-old actress displayed her noticeably thinner frame in a pair of skinny pale blue jeans and a white and silver vest top as she arrived at the Fox & Friends studios in New York for an interview.

Jennie's face also looked considerably slimmer as stepped out for the day alongside her nine-year-old daughter Lola Ray.
Jennie and her Twilight star husband Peter Facinelli announced in March that they were splitting after 11 years of marriage, and the blonde actress was served with divorce papers from her estranged spouse last month.
As the pair broke the news of the split, Jennie admitted she was struggling to cope during the emotional time.

She said: 'It was something we were working through together. As anybody who's been through it, it's always kind of shocking when it ends up finally happening.
'But it was sad for our family unit. We're a really great family, and we always will be, because we have three beautiful daughters together.'
Jennie teamed her ensemble yesterday with a pair of metallic heels and a white blazer as she made her way into the studios for a television appearance.

Meanwhile Jennie's lookalike daughter Lola showed off her fashion prowess in an all grey and white ensemble which consisted of a striped T-shirt and polka dot trousers, along with rainbow-coloured ballet pumps.
She and Peter also have 15-year-old daughter Luca Bella together and Fiona Eve, five.

Losing that much makes her face look older. Or maybe it's the tan. Or the fact that the last time I noticed her face was in Melrose Place, the first season of the original. (I'm a proud owner of the series and re-watch them. I know, escapism.)
