Vanishing act: Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's wife Jackie debuts her new figure on the red carpet after dropping FIVE stone

As a designer on the BBC's Changing Rooms show, he was used to transformations. But the latest makeover is a bit closer to home.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's wife Jackie, who joined him at the Classical Brit Awards last night, seemed a shadow of the woman who appeared on his arm a at the same event two years ago.

An onlooker said: 'Jackie looked amazing. Almost like a different person. No wonder Laurence had a smile on his face.'

Changing shape: Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen last night attended the Classical Brit Awards with wife Jackie, who looked shadow of the woman who appeared on his arm at the same event two years ago

The 44-year-old, who Mail Online revealed lost an incredible five stone on a strict 500 calories a day diet, looked a picture of confidence in a slinky satin green dress.

She shrank from a size 18 to a 12 with the LighterLife, a liquid-based regime that replaces meals with milkshakes and soup and includes drinking up to four litres of water a day.

Jackie, who has children Cecile, 13, and Hermione, 10, recently confessed she didn’t like being referred to as her husband’s ‘dumpy wife’.
She decided to give up her 'love of food and booze' and take up exercise with a personal trainer.

She said: 'There used to be the odd comment in the papers suggesting that, somehow, I didn’t deserve my husband because I wasn’t thin. I’m not Laurence’s dumpy wife anymore.

‘I feel losing weight somehow empowered me. I didn’t do it because of pressure from anyone else and I didn’t do it to look better. I did it for health reasons.

‘This was about losing enough weight so I wasn’t at an increased risk of diseases such as diabetes.'
Jackie now walks up to 36 miles-a-week and is training to take part in the 26.2-mile MoonWalk in London to raise money for Cotswold Breakthrough Breast Cancer next month.

Good for her. She's a very funny, warm, smart, sexy, sassy woman. If you can catch the UK show "To The Manor Bowen" where the family moves to the country to restore and live in an old manor house you'll see the dymanics of this marriage. Unless they are very good actors they love/hate each other with equal passion.

She is quite attractive in both pictures, but she certainly looks great in the first shot. She carried the heavier weight well and dressed appropriately. I would hardly say she looked like his mother.

No she looked like they put a tiny head on a HUGE body...it didn't right at all.

I know a few people who did Medi-fast here in the US which is the 500 calories per day. Both dropped tons of weight and have done a good job of keeping it off for the last few years. It's all about the follow through to a maintenance program and making a true lifestyle change. It can be done but is so hard.

I can't imagine trying to subsist on 500 calories a day. Even double that would be difficult for me and I know I'd immediately pack it back on plus some.

500 calories a day is not healthy at all.

Shit, 500 calories a day. What do they eat, what sort of nutrition can you pack into 500 cals that doesn't result in some sort of nutritional deficiency over time? I don't know, even if they IV all nutrients you might need, it sounds like such a shock to the body. I have a hard time believing this can be healthy.

Maybe they cycle/alternate low cal days with higher calorie days of 1000-1200, which from everything I've read is the minimum for normal women. 800 cals a day is what I've read medical diets do for obese patients. If you don't at some point cycle with higher calorie days, the body gets used to the low cals and stops losing weight at the same rate because of the plateau effect.

She looks amazing. Well everybody is saying 500 cals a day, but how many calories do you eat when you have the gastric bypass? Not trying to be funny, I seriously want to know. It can't be more than that, can it?
