most european and american women aren't 1m85 and skeletical, like most fashion models.
they represent a tiny, idealised minority.
this is no different.
so if they are self-loathing, then so are the rest of us.

It seemed implied that the photos of people with light skinned weren't representative. So, I was wondering how dark the skin would need to be to be representative.
As far as typical Turkish features, what would they be? Turkey has been invaded and settled by all kinds of ethnic groups over the centuries.

Look back in the thread, I already posted more typical (as in a majority of
the Turkish population looks like that) pics. And again: don't take it just
from me, opinion shared by my dear friends (shout out to: Afet, Yilmaz,
Hediye, Turhan and Gülçin )

They're models, and when has a model ever looked like the majority of the female population in any culture?

Not to be argumentative, but that's an anecdotal opinion. My guess is that the majority of the Turkish population would have brown eyes, dark hair, and olive-skin, with lots of subgroups with variation.
However, as someone just observed, when have models been representative of any population, anyway? They are typically 4-5 inches taller, with finer facial features, longer legs, and thinner torsos. Almost by definition, they are not going to look like the average member of the local population.
