yes, the celebs posted are all PS'd barbies but that doesn't mean there aren't fair-skinned, light-eyed and blonde turkish people.
i do agree with chilly that the fair skin and light eyes seems to be idealised more than the more common dark eyes and hair, but i've travelled to turkey and seen people of every colour imaginable. it's incredibly diverse. and judging from the turkish diplomats i knew working in geneva, i'd say about half of them were dark haired and dark eyed, some had very dark hair and very light skin and sometimes light eyes, and then there were some blondes with light eyes. no button noses though, not necessarily large noses but not tiny little pig noses either. the woman i was close friends with had light brown hair, very fair skin and the most amazing green eyes i've ever seen, and her daughter (with her turkish husband) had light blonde hair and blue eyes.
turkey is very diverse. i think maybe what happens is that people form an opinion based on the turkish migrants they see in europe, who do tend to have dark hair and eyes.
the same thing happens with latin america. yes, the majority are dark skinned, dark haired and have typically 'latino' looks, but there are also some very fair-skinned, light haired people that no one would ever guess were central or south american. it's a big mix and there was also a lot of northern european migration to latin america.

Hello! Did you not READ my post?????

I know plenty of Turkish people with light
hair and eyes, but they have quite distinct features.
I'll explain it a bit clearer for you, hopefully:
There are plenty of lighthaired Turkish people with light eyes but, UNLIKE
most of the models in the pictures you've posted, their features (especially
noses, shape of eyes and cheekbones) are clearly not Caucasian which
these models features (the majority) are. In other words: had you not
mentioned these models were Turkish, most people would not have been
able to tell that they were which makes it plausible that they may have
had plastic surgery. I'm not saying that there are no Turkish people
with Caucasian features, I am saying that even of all the lighthaired
Turkish people with light eyes that I know NONE has Caucasian features
(like turned up or button noses), not one.
As for your "example" of Angelina Jolie not being the standard for Americans:
she's not even the standard for human beings!
She's bug eyed and fish lipped. I personally count my blessings I don't
have to face that in the mirror every day!

I dont think you even know what you are saying, you are just spoiling the thread with well-known race discussions.Who cares about being caucasian, asian, african, european etc? Did I say Turks are caucasians??? Its YOU who is obsessed with this kind of things.I just started a thread for Turkish celebrities, that's it,no more no less, and they are all Turkish, whether you like it or not.

And also posting a transsexual's pic. is not very clever.

Oh forget it, it is not I but YOU who is missing the point.
And race or racism is NOT my issue, rather yours considering
your denial.
Also: what if one of the pics, as you say, is of a transsexual?
It's still a TURKISH transsexual with recognizable Turkish features.
You know, I directed one of my Turkish friends to this thread (and
the one on the Turkish males) today and she laughed her head off
saying those models and actors were not representative of the
average (as in natural, not as in average looks wise on a scale
of beauty) Turkish man or woman. Oh, and she's a green eyed
red haired (naturally), freckled Turkish lady with - as she herself
calls it - an authentic Turkish face that she's proud of.

And I did the same.I did not say this or that. But since you are so obsessed with this race issues, you entered this thread and....

I worked briefly with a Turkish woman who looked very similar to the models here. In fact, I often wondered why she didn't model. She might have been slightly under 5'7", though....

Hey, where are all the pictures of Sibel Kekilli????

If there is such a diversity in Turkey, the why are the celebs posted by the OP not diverse? That's my whole point! If Turkey is such a diverse country, why do these celebs all look THE SAME?

These are Turkish celebrities in GERMANY. They don't have to hide there ethnicity here.

TV host Nazan Eckes:

TV host Jasmin Wiegand:

Senator Lale Agkün:

Actress Sebill Kekilli:

TV host Gülcan:

Wanna see the boys?

Politician Cem Özdemir:

Singer Volkan Baydar:

Rapper Eko Fresh:

Bundesliga player Halil Altintop:

His twin brother Hamit:

Actor Eroll Sander:

Director Fatih Akin (with his muse Sebil):

These are all well-liked Turkish public figures in my country. Most of them are born and bred here, but their parents are from all parts of Turkey.

Exactly. Same in Turkey. It would be nice, if the celebrity culture would reflect that, instead of obsessing over the light-skinned minority.

When someone says that the majority of Turks are dark skinned, what exactly does that mean? What color shade are we talking about?

Who says they're dark skinned?
The majority are light skinned or olive skinned. It's the features that makes them recognizable (don't believe me alone, my Turkish friends all say this).

What makes you think that you know Turkish nation better than I do? I really hate it when people without a clue think they would know everything better. What I don't understand is why you are so pre-occupied with the color of hair and skin.

For God's sake what do you mean by "diverse",I posted beautiful models,actresses... there are both brunettas, blonds, brown haired..It becomes annoying.

Turkish Female Celebrities

Overwhelming majority of Turkish nation are brunetta, brown haired etc. And yes there must be millions of Turkish people with NATURAL blonde hair, especially in Northern Turkey (blacksea region 70-80% are blonde with blue-green eyes) and in western Turkey. Not only celebs, the number is 7-8 million..

Cem Uzan, the leader of Turkish nationalist Party

His wife Alara Uzan (100% Turkish and no plastic surgery)
