^^ Then why aren't there hardly any girls with black hair, dark skin and dark eyes? Why do most of them have nose jobs, colored contacts, and dyed hair? Whatever happened to those colors, shapes, and sizes you are referring to?

Most Turkish people I know (10% of the population in my city) do not look like this. There are some who have brown hair, and quite a few who have red hair, but most of them have dark eyes, dark hair, dark skin.

Miss Belgium looks halfway natural to me, the rest is a bunch of plastic barbies trying desperatly to look as Northern European/Western as possible. I hope this is an expression of your personal taste and not of the Turkish celebrity culture in general. That would be sad.

Or are you trying to tell me that the phenotype of these female celebrities is represantative of the phenotype of the general population in Turkey? That would mean that 80% of the Turkish population have blue eyes, light hair and light skin.

As far as I know non of them have contacts, only Deniz Akkaya and Tuğçe Kazaz have nose jobs (that's what I know)

This is "celebrities" thread, people are posting celebrities's pictures, isn't it?

As for colours, about 10%-12% of Turkish population are natural blonde, especially in northern Turkey (in blacksea region). That makes about 7-8 million people.

5-6 of them are brunetta or dark brown hair,Tuğçe Kazaz,Deniz Akkaya,Eyşan Özhim,Zeynep Sever,Cansu Dere..I guess you did not see them.

Regular Turkish women:

Never mind the headscarfs, just look at the faces, their types.

Even Turkish beauty contestants look different:

And it's true: there are plenty blond haired, light eyed Turkish people, but that
doesn't make their type Caucasian. I know plenty of Turkish people with light
hair and eyes, but they have quite distinct features.

I'm sorry but this is celebrity forum right? And if you look at the title it says "Turkish Celebrities" right? What is not clear about it? It looks like you and HWBL are so obsessed with people's colours, race etc.

^^ Celebrity forum means by definition, someone posts something, others COMMENT on it. Ergo, if you don't want people to comment, don't post.

I was pointing out the racism of a celebrity culture where women are adored who do not resemble 90% of the population. It implies that 90% of the population are not worty of adoration, due to their ethnicity. That's messed up, don't you agree? Talk about obsession with race.

Of course, if you could show me a bunch of successful female celebrities in Turkey who actually LOOK Turkish, things would be different. But you insist there's nothing out of the ordinary here.

As I said, there are almost 100.000 Turks living in my immediate neighborhood and NONE looks like the celebrities you presented here. If you can't find any fault in that, that's fine.

I'm gonna visit your country on Saturday. Gonna go look for those pale, blonde, blue-eyed Turkish girls with button noses.

Thank you,Nae! Those are very interesting pictures of life in Turkey. I fear that is about as close as some of us will ever get. Chalet shares pictures of Canada -I love the country-sharing idea! Every country has great beauties & Turkey seems to have more than its share. I have noticed Argentina seems to be the same way.

They are models, actresses etc.Models, actresses are beautiful people, did you ever see short and fat model? I did not get your and HBWL's reaction to this thread. If you think that they are not Turkish make your own search,if you think that they do not represent the whole nation that's ok,Angelina Jolie does not represent whole Americans either, but she is American.Anyway most of the celebs in this thread are brunetta or dark brown haired, just look again.

That is Istanbul? I want to go!

We found out last year that DH's grandfather was from Turkey. Unfortunately, we have almost no information about him.
