Yes! James Spader used to be so hot back in the day. I loved him in "sex, lies, and videotape." He's a good actor, too. Yes, he's gotten fat, and I don't know why he's let himself go. If he could lose about 50 pounds, I bet he could look hot again.

I felt the same about him - he wasn't handsome attractive but there was something about him, he was somehow very sexy. I think it was Kylie who when asked what was so special about Michael Hutchence replied 'What isn't?'

i had different taste for eighties guys but here are some examples...

the dude from fine young cannibals - i wanted to marry him. i thought he was uber sexah. i should try to see what he looks like today.

YouTube - fine young cannibals - she drives me crazy

michael hutchence gave me my first tingly feeling down inside my undies. i actually cried when he died. i bought the people magazine and lit candles and listened to him all night in some sort of strange shrine type memorial service. my boyfriend laughed at me.

YouTube - INXS - Need You Tonight & Mediate

and i had the hots for all three beastie boyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... they are still really cute. i like the way they look and am usually attracted to guys who look like that overall.

YouTube - Fight For Your Right by Beastie Boys

i always liked james spader too. he always played such assholes. but i loved the way he talked.

i hated tom cruise. he looked like a 'sweaty weiner' in top gun.

^I agree about Cruise; i never liked him. He's never been 'hot' in my opinion.

Morton Harket, the singer from A-ha. How could I forget. Bowie back in the 80's was hot too.

YES! Morton Harket was and IS still so so sooooo hot!! He's aged beautifully. I had a massive uber-crush on Sting and the drummer from U2 during that time...

When I mentioned up thread about James Spader looking overweight, I truly thought this had happened literally overnight. I've seen him in lots of things over the last while and he always looked quite slender, but - man! - I wondered if he was ill or something. He really ballooned!

Even as a young kid, I loved the 'night time TV guys'.

John James (aka Jeff Colby on Dynasty) was quite hot in the day.

Robert Wagner on Hart to Hart

Pierce Brosnan on Remington Steele

Michael Schoeffling was so hot! I loved Wild Hearts Can't be Broken because of him. Oh, the heart of a 10 year old

Since I was a little younger in the 80's I had a big crush on Fred Savage.

Ok, everyone at work makes fun of me because my oldest son's name is Jake Ryan and I can recite every line from Sixteen Candles.

I am a loser....

I was obsessed with Sixteen Candles. I absolutely loved Jake Ryan, and crushed on Michael Shoeffling for years. Also loved Rick Springfield, John Taylor, John Bon Jovi, Brett Michaels, and Menudo. Kind of an ecclectic group, i know.

Micheal Hutchence was hella hot.

Not 80's but one of the hottest people ever is Elvis, before he was fat. Of course, Sean Connery tops my list.
