Robert Mitchum was SEX. Looks like he's screw you and leave. But you would have enjoyed it.

Oh my heart. Ty Power. (You'd think I was 80 years old or something). When he smiled in his movies, get the smelling salts.
God do I love beautiful men.
For Glamazon: I'm with you on Rudy. He had the most incredibly gorgeous pair of hands I've ever seen on a man. I think he used them as a prop.

OMG ^^^ He is/was SOOOOO hot! Not only that, he was classy or, at least he kept his personal life private. The "hot guys" of today could learn a few things from men of that era. Like discretion.
ROFL @ "80 yrs old" - naw, you're just exposed to a little more classic stuff.

Re: Classic Hollywood Beaus
When I was 12, the public tv station used to run silent movies and all the old movies on Sat night from 8 pm till 2 am. I didn't want to hang out with my friends, I wanted to watch The Philadelphia Story!

Exactly! Though I must admit I don't know how much the studio system had to do with that. Many of the classic movie stars were much wilder than today's "bad boys", but as long as they were top of the bill, the studio provided all kinds of ways to keep everything hush hush. Even the press in those days helped maintain squeeky clean images. You could possibly view that as a form of blackmail> they'd not run dirty stories in return for "big exclusive scoops". Save for a few incidents, like comic Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, whose career the media helped ruin after he was acquited in a manslaughter trial, most of the time the press helped maintain carefully constructed images.

Re: Classic Hollywood Beaus
Yes, HWBL ^^^ I think the days of the media "colluding" with Hollywood - at least to PROTECT the stars, lol - are over. A reflection of our society in general.
On a less solemn note, I am hard-put to place ho-magnet Charlie Sheen or space-alien Tom Cruise in the same league as Tyrone Power, Gary Cooper or James Stewart. Nobody's perfect, but they at least kept their traps shut, if not their flies!

I remember this quote (almost 100%) from Bette Davis about Errol Flynn, during one of her last interviews with Larry King. She said, when King asked her about Errol. "Oh, he was gorgeous, simply gorgeous. Wasn't much of an actor and he was the first one to admit that. But you don't have to be a great actor when you're that beautiful."

Re: Classic Hollywood Beaus
Gary Cooper, ahhhhhhh, thanks for posting him. I've loved him since I was a girl watching his movies on a black & white tv on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to post his picture here but never took the time to figure out how to post pictures

Re: Classic Hollywood Beaus
Welcome!
I was trying to find a pic after he had the facelift. It's hard to tell in a portrait, maybe easier to see in a movie.
