but obama is too weak, way too weak.
This reminds me of the debate scheduling strategy I read this past week. That the Obama campaign made a smart move by scheduling the first debate subject matter as foreign policy/affairs and the last one domestic issues. Since domestic issues is Obama's strong point, this is what would be more easily remembered as voters go to the polls in November. The reverse for McCain since domestic affairs is his weak point.

CNN also showed Obama winning on both Iraq and the economy.

I would probably put money on the fact that Palin will have a health emergency with Trig or Bristol in the next 6 days, requiring her to drop her redneck trailer trash ass out of the race.

On tonight's events, the ONLY time McCain answered the question that was actually asked of him was on Russia/Georgia. 1 answer on point in 2 hours.

Sounds like GR was ahead of the curve:
I wish I'd organized a drinking game around the number of times John McCain said "Sen. Obama doesn't understand," or found some other way to sneer at Obama as na´ve and inexperienced. For the most part he refused to even look at Barack Obama over 90 minutes. What an ass. It was hackneyed and condescending and, to me, repellant. But did it work?

I failed. I couldn't get through watching all of the debate. McCain's stories drove me batshit, I couldn't take it!!!
Having said that, I think Obama came out ahead. When it comes to the average person who really is naive about all of this political stuff (like me) Obama made more sense. His charisma also didn't hurt
I think he spoke more on the things America needed to hear and not old war stories.

    Sen. Barack 66% (votes: 31389)
    Neither 6% (votes: 2774)

From one of the polling guys at fivethirtyeight.com:
Really, I think a lot of pundits go about watching the debate in the wrong way. Namely, they're paying too much attention to it. That's not how most people watch the debate. They're talking with friends, taking care of their kids, drinking a beer, flipping channels, surfing the Internet. I think what those people saw is that Obama looked good, he sounded good and forceful, he spoke directly to the middle class in the first 20 minutes, and he probably had the best individual moment of the night on Iraq. And by the time that McCain woke up, they had fallen asleep or had flipped over to the White Sox game.

I also think the pundits look at McCain's sneering and failure to even look at Obama as some sort of strength, whereas most normal people would show it as a lack of basic manners and a total lack of maturity and statesmanship.

Not for nuthin' I haven't seen the usual pro-McCain folks post at all tonight and that is the most telling. If Obama had tanked, I would probably be licking my wounds, so go figure..
