Me, too. Words seem so inadequate but I'm so sorry.

I miss having a President that I respect. Far too many people have lost their lives because of Bush.

great thread, edie. and OMG msdebagain, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a child who is 23, and I always cry when they show on TV the guys and girls who died at such a young age... this just makes me all weepy. I hope your immediate and extended family is doing all right now. I just cannot imagine that kind of loss.

I will post later about this topic.

I believe you can disagree with Bush but support the troops all the way-- SO anyone who has someone in the armed forces anything I say is not meant to not support them.. As Bill Maher says " My support means get our kids back home." NOW!

MsDebagain- God bless, sincerely. My heart goes out to each soldier and their family.

I miss not having my patriotism questioned.
I miss going to another country and not getting sideways looks based on the actions of my idiot president.
I miss thinking a blow job was totally, like, the most scandalous thing ever.
I miss the feeling of hope.
I miss having an ounce of faith in my government.
Baby, by the time you have kids and they're in school, no one will care about you.

I am against the war, but I support the troops. I was very upset about the reports of wounded servicemen (and women) getting substandard medical care at Walter Reed. I am also upset by the loss of life. It seems like such a loss. These young people are dying for what? It makes no sense.

I miss being lied to about normal stuff like blowjobs. I will not miss being lied to about stuff like, oh, say, WHY WE'RE GOING TO WAR.

I miss being able to go on random road trips because gas was so cheap.

I miss knowing that I wouldn't be able to lose my job if one year my students bombed a state/national test.

Right up with Iraq, NCLB is one of the worst things that could've ever come about.

    I miss:

The sense of optimism and progress in the 90's
The fundie fuckjobs not being the forefront of politics
NASCAR being a third tier sport nobody cared about.
Human righs being added, not taken away.
    Smaller cars.
Not being probed 3 ways from sunday at an airport.
Being able to pull a harmless prank and not be labelled a terrorist.
Not being at risk of being thrown into a CIA black hole like GITMO
Being able to watch a politician on TV without wanting to throw the tv out the window.
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.

I miss being proud of my country. I was once very patriotic, and I was certain the U.S. was the best place in the world. Now I am embarrassed and ashamed by what the Bush junta has done to my country.

omg i miss how happy and optomistic i was about my future and the times I was living in during the 90's! They were the best years of my life! I was gonna go to college and get outta the shittown i lived in and make something of myself!! I dont know where I went wrong, but what im living now is not what I had dreamt of when i was a little girl and Clinton was in the office...and her husband too.

Thats why I'm voting for Hillary in 2008 and no one can change my mind!!!

I missed being patriotic too and not being constantly suspicous of my govt.
I miss not being afraid/weary/anxious to fly
I miss knowing that I had a right to do with my body what I wanted to do
I miss having the AIDs epidemic being an important matter to the govt. and $ going to help progressive causes concerning that matter and other health related issues
I miss this coutry being rich as fuck and not being in debt for generations to come
    I miss not being at war and not being scared shitless to go to bed at night and wake up in a nuclear holocaust;

i hate you bush. i hate what you've done to my country, my people, and my future...

WOW! I am truly sorry msdebagain....how horrible for you and your family. To lose someone, in such a way. When they VOLUNTEERED....when they went there under false pretenses. I wish there was something I could say except how sorry I am. My heart hurts for you.
