^But then you would be a politician.

I'd hate to see you corrupted, so just stay here at GR and be an animal lover like me.

The way I see it, in a general point of view:

Democrats are for the everday person.

Republicans are for the rich, making more money, and for war.

Either way, even with the choices of who's who on either party this time around, it's almost enough for me to vote Third Party. So with that being said, what do you guys think the Third Party can stand for?

Democrats are the party that says government can make you richer, smarter, taller and get the chickweed out of your lawn.

Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work, and then they get elected and prove it.

I'm not a Republican, but my father was and many of my friends are, and I have to say that's pretty judgmental. Not all Republicans are war mongers. I agree with you on the third party option though, lol.

No, but supporting a party that ARE warmongers makes you guilty by proxy.

i agree that you can't lump all republicans and democrats together and stereotype. but the way some people see it is that even if republicanism doesn't just stand for conservative intolerant fundie christians that want to take away our individual rights and 'cure' gays through the bible, forget about granting them any rights, or don't support women's rights and equal rights or legal abortions - the fact that these elements are prominent and powerful within the republican party, it means that out of principle they could never support that party, even if they agree with them on stuff like the economy, government, etc...
as a woman it sometimes pisses me off when conservative career women that support political parties that run on 'traditional values' platforms and basically want women to stay at home and have babies, even though they themselves would never be where they are now if it hadn't been for all the feminists and liberals that gave them rights in the first place. it feels like a betrayal. and a contradiction.

    exactly.
